If nothing else, stay here for the breakfast alone. It is honestly one of the best I have had in any of the hotels I have stayed in! Aside from that, the location is good. It is only about 10 minutes from St. Stephansdom and Graben Street, and maybe 20 to the Rathaus/Parliment/Museum Quarter, so it is a solid place to start any tour of Vienna. I will say that while they offer free internet it is as spotty as the other reviews said and one of the nights I wasn't even able to pick it up. When it was on, you would have to connect constantly - which was a headache but definitely not a total deal breaker. In all, I would stay here again and would recommend it!

I stayed at this hotel in a single room for two nights in November 2013.

The hotel is in a convenient location, a short walk from public transport and the city centre. It’s also a walkable distance to the airport express train station (about 15 mins). The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and the décor was nice. Although the room was not very big, there was enough space since all the furniture was placed along the walls. The only problem with this setup is that if you’re taller than about 183cm (6’), you won’t be able to fully stretch out on the bed, as a wooden cabinet housing the mini fridge was at the foot of the bed. Another issue with the room was that the sound proofing wasn’t great. I could hear the tv in the adjacent room – while watching the tv in my room. In addition to the mini fridge, the room also had a safe, but there were no tea making facilities. The bathroom was also clean, but the shower cubicle was very small.

Breakfast was pretty good, with the usual range of hot food (eggs, bacon, sausages), cold meat, bread, salad, fruit, etc. There was no soy milk, but they had lactose free milk.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

This is a charming hotel complemented by the very helpful staff on reception. The rooms are nothing special ,comfortable and clean with a bonus of two pillows. What sets the hotel apart is the wonderful dining room 19th century in its grandeur and the stunning breakfast so good I was able to forgo an evening meal in the knowledge of the feast that awaited me the next morning! The lobby and the adjacent lounge area also have Viennese charm all over.
The staff were so helpful and when I returned to get my case having checked out they sorted me with a new wifi code so I could check my mail.
Definitly worth staying in and only a short walk over the river to the centre with a good bus and tram service outside.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are away from the street and quieter.

Traveled to this Viennese hotel with our VBT bike tour group at the end of our trip. classic Viennese style lobby, bar, restaurant . Best desk staff.: professional, very helpful arranging tours, dinner reservations umbrellas, quick and efficient service (cant recall his name). Walking distance to good touring sites. very good breakfast and nice bar for evening cocktail. Rooms are ok, a bit worn and dated, bit dark, but very clean, good wireless. our group complimented that we all had a fresh orchid in our rooms. did not get to eat dinner at this hotel so cant comment on this.

My wife and I absolutely love Vienna - our favourite city in Europe (Rome is a close second). Consequently investigating somewhere special to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary we naturally looked for a typical Viennese hotel. We selected Hotel Stefanie because it was convenient to the centre - no need for taxis. It was of a modest size and offered charm and elegance of a by-gone era. We loved every minute of our too short stay of 4 nights. We very much appreciated the sumptuous breakfasts each morning, the crisp elegant room, the excellent service and, above all, a caring smiling staff who responded to our queries with helpful advice and friendliness. A gift from the management of red roses, champagne and chocolates on 'the Day' was a huge surprise and helped make for a truly memorable occasion. We were delighted to note that fellow guests ranged in age from young families through to couples of a certain maturity like ourselves, which made for a family-like ambience. We will be returning to this lovely hotel, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Perfect location to walk around Vienna. Just 5min walk from airport bus stop.
Great breakfast, a lot of tasty food.
Room was very clean. Comfortable beds.
Old building, but perfectly kept. The dining room (restaurant) is very nice and clean. Тhe lobby, restaurant and bar are very well designed, have very nice interior. Just pleasure to sit inside.
A nice bar on evening.
The all staff was very efficient, friendly and helpful. Answer all our questions, helped to order concert tickets, print boarding pass...
We strongly suggest the hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room with street view. On morning a little bit noisy because of traffic, as in any big town...

Dear Michael C,

Thank you for posting your impressions on TripAdvisor and giving us the possibility to control and improve our offer.

Regarding the rooms: the Hotel Stefanie offers different categories which also vary on size. We would be pleased to advise you at the time of your next booking, in order to find a suitable accommodation.

The garage is just behind the Hotel, so from the main entrance you only have to pass the lobby and the inner courtyard. We are sorry that this caused some problems.

We are happy that you still enjoyed your stay and thank you for recommending us to further travellers.

Best regards
