“Lovely hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

Lovely big hotel on the danube large rooms clean and very friendly staff. The under ground 5 - 10 minutes walking.Breakfast was very nice but not very good for snacks or lunches dinner was lovely but not much on menu a bit expensive cashing in as there is no where else to eat near by except shopping centre which is limited and closes early and closed Sundays .Pool looked nice but didn't use it as sun was off it the time we came back in the afternoon. If this hotel had a more varied menu and more reasonable price food it would have got a 5 out of 5 also 25 minutes walk to prater from hotel.

We stayed here for two nights on a Trafalgar tour, which probably explains why our room had no view, but instead overlooked a car park. Room was quite large with two queen beds and a sitting area. Bathroom facilities excellent. Wifi access also great. Breakfast outside on the terrace was a lovely start to the day. We were disappointed when we tried to eat there in the evening again, but it was booked for a private function. We were told that it would all be cleared by a certain time, so we waited for an hour and 40 minutes until that time, only to find tat it was still not available, so we gave up.
The main problem however is the location, which is some distance from the old city centre and main attractions. It was not a bother to us as we had previously been in Vienna and were happy to get the nearby train for 10 Stops into town. We do feel however that for first-timers and those who are not so mobile that it is a big challenge. No fault of the hotel at all, but perhaps it is something that tour companies should consider.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room with an even number as they are the ones with a Danube view.

When I found this hotel close to the pier in Vienna, where I expected my close friends to arrive, my first fears where that it will not meet my expectations because of lack of competition around. The hotel proved me wrong on all these bios judgements and I would most eagerly recommend it to anyone. Rooms are extremely spacious, beds are large and comfortable. Even though my room orientation was to the street and not to the river the noise was not disturbing. I cannot even describe how rich the breakfast was and the friendly professional behaviour of the staff added to the value.
The hotel has adequate price rate and is a wonderful place to stay.

This is a comfortable hotel, but I think it's better to stay elsewhere in Vienna. The Danube view is nice (as HHonors gold members, we were upgraded to the river view rooms), but the location is inconvenient -- you lose all the charm and convenience of staying at a central Vienna location. Since we had a car, we thought this wouldn't matter much, but we were wrong. The hotel has a high parking charge (given the location), and then we had to keep paying for parking in town and figure out their incomprehensible (for non-German speakers) parking rules (go to a Tabak and ask, or put it in a garage).

Breakfast was good, the rooms are American-sized (big) and dining outside along the river was pleasant. But I'd leave this hotel to the tour groups and stay elsewhere next time I'm in Vienna.

We had a night in Vienna on our way to Dürnstein. I had stayed at this Hotel before the refurbishment and was now positively surprised by its new appearance. We had Executive rooms, spacious and well fit for a business Hotel. King size bed, good bedding, big flat screen TV and enough plugs and light. Like the Hilton amenities from Peter Thomas Roth. We could use the Execuive Lounge where evening snacks were offered. Breakfast was served in the Restaurant close to the Danube and we could sit outside, which was a good start in the day. Service was efficient and buffet offered all one need for a good start into the day.

Dear phil_evans55

Thank you very much for sharing the feedback about your recent stay with us. This is the most valuable source for improvement we can ask for and we appreciate taking the time to share it.

I am glad to read that you overall enjoyed you stay with us, in special the fantastic view over the Danube river. The prices in our restaurant, which are situated in the middle price class compared to our surrounding, have hopefully not affected your overall dinner and lunch experience.

Thank you again for your feedback and I hope we can welcome you once more in future.

Kind Regards

Raik Lang

First, directions from the airport to the hotel - not nearly as complicated as they sound below. Do not use the directions on the hotel website - they take you out of the way.

1 - take the S7 to Praterstern.

2 - take the U2 subway line (direction Aspernstrasse) to the Stadion stop.

3 - leave by the exit at the back of the station - see the Stella Klein Low Weg exit. Take the stairs or the elevator down.

4 - take a right out of the station

5 - take an immediate left on the sidewalk

6 - take the first crosswalk you see and then continue going on the left

7 - take the next sidewalk on the right next to the playground - you will see the hotel directly in front (a white building with the top couple of floors red)

8 - walk to the end of the sidewalk, take a left and go under the road

9 - take the stairs up to the bridge and then take a left to the hotel (the bridge goes over a busy road and rail tracks)

You are there!

Review - large room, windows open to allow fresh air in, great views of the Danube, in room safe. Only negative, no walk in shower - need to step in and out of a bathtub. Friendly staff.

I decided to stay at this hotel rather than the other Hiltons in Vienna because the price was so much cheaper. It was a great hotel. But it is a little isolated - you cannot walk out the door and find a bunch of restaurants. But to me it was worth it and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get one facing the danube.
