I recently went to this hotel for a conference and spent two nights there.

The rooms are fairly well equipped with all the usuals you'd expect in a Hilton business hotel. The beds are comfortable, the showers clean and the TV has the standard international selection.

The room service was reasonable in terms of price (for room service that is), however the quality of the food left something to be desired (not bad, but just not worth the price).

The cost of wi-fi is typical for a Hilton and outragously expensive - EUR20 for 24 hours of moderate speed wi-fi. As the wi-fi stopped working for three hours, I pointed out that I can have 50MB broadband for a month for less than they're charging and it works - the fee was refunded!

The hotel boasts an outdoor pool which is very nice (in the summer anyway!) as well as al-fresco drinking/dining which (except for the smokers) is also nice.

What lets the hotel down are two things. Firstly it's location. On the one hand it's lovely being on the Danube, however you're not exactly in central Vienna - and getting there by foot isn't the nicest of walks and certainly not something I'd recommend doing at night.

Secondly the front-desk service was pretty bad. Phones went unanswered, and it took me about 15 minutes to check out as (a) a cabin crew were checking in but more importantly (b) there was only one person on the desk and only one PC was working.

Relating to the level of service, I specifically requested a quiet room, but was allocated one on top of the freight railway line that runs outside the hotel!

Overall, this is a reasonable hotel with reasonable prices (EUR165 per night excluding breakfast), but you can probably get something just as nice that's more central.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the river side as (a) the rooms have better views (not a dual carriageway) and (b...

I recently stayed several nights at the Hilton Danube during a Europe tour. The hotel is lovely, clean and well kept. It has a lovely vue of the Danube. The food was very good and well prepared at breakfast. The salads we ordered at the bar were adequate. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable and I was pleased that the windows opened for fresh air. My only objection is that is is not conveniently located. It is about a five minute walk to the subway which is fine, but there is nothing within walking distance of the hotel itself. A great place to stay if you dont' mind hoppping on the subway whenever you want to go anywhere.

Stayed here for 4 nights and was definitely a remarkable experience. We arrived much before the scheduled check in time but hotel staff was very kind enough to allow access of lounge and access to some gourmet beverages. The location of the hotel is excellent in terms accessibility to the city center and the ambience around. Wonderful walks along the banks of river Danube is an added plus. If in Vienna, I would defiantly stay in this property again. Go for the executive class river facing rooms to enjoy an awesome experience of seeing the river in different lights and moods. Overall positives – big rooms, good accessibility, good view, gourmet snacks/beverages @ the executive lounge (24 by 7) and walks.

My first trip to Europe...met with hostility at Venna airport but the cabbie from airport to hotel more than made up for the first encounter!

Entered Hilton premises and greetd with asmile by the Fillipino bell boy..but the FO or reception counter was far from receptive......in contrast to the hospitality in Asia-Pacific Hiltons. The ladies were curt, tight lipped (no smile) except to the German-speaking guests..

The location is excellent and oh so beautiful to walk around..so is the viw from the room! BUT...what good is a house if not a home???

The savin grace to my stay here was the staff at the executive lounge but not verybody can enjoy this facility. They were warm, smiling, friendly, welcoming and inded very helpful....even helped me with my booking for/at Salzburg.I felt good, homely and enjoyed the lounge but the front office was colder than the weather!

This hotel needs a concierge service. The hosekeeping needs a thorough brush up. I am informed that the hotel is newly ...refurbished......the toilets dont look like it at all! We landed on 9th may and that was a hot day.....could not sleep through the night as air-con didnt work...complained about it and they said it was attended to....but repeat performance.....fortunately, it was raining and we were instructed to keep the windows open despite the rain.

If you musy stay here...avoid the reception..and take the executive floor not for the rooms but the service at the lounge....Natasha, Michel and Dennis will take good care of you. I would have liked to convey my experience to Front office manager but he was on leave. An exception and fairly friendly was an Asian gentkleman at the reception.,

Dining for a day or two at waterfront should be ok but beyond is a restricted menu.

Dear holidaymaniacGoa,

thank you very much for sharing the feedback about your recent stay with us. This is the most valuable source for improvement we can ask for and we appreciate taking the time time to share it.
I'm sorry to read about the lack of hospitality you experienced at the Front Desk during your stay. Please rest assured that I will evaluate your comment with my team to improve in that point. As you can see from many previous comments this is not a common experience at the Hilton Vienna Danube and many customers appreciate the hospitality of all of out team members.
Thank you again for your feedback and I personally ensure a follow up on this.

Kind Regards
Stefan Lippert

Our experience was nice and our room had a splendid view of the Danube River. The staff was nice, helpful and accomodating. We could not have had a better visit. We accidentally left some items in our room and the hotel kept them safe at the front desk until we returned to retrieve them. Also we liked the convenience of being able to convert dollars to Euro at the front desk because we arrived on Saturday. Thanks for everything.

Stayed here on business and everything was efficient and clean. I recommend it. The location is a bit tricky but the view is great. The restaurant is very good. Plan to pay for parking (standard in Europe).

I was on a 2 night business trip and it was good to be out of the noisy city centre. It's on the banks of the Danube and I really enjoyed my runs along the river bank. Executive Lounge was very good - excellent breakfast. Conference facilities also very good. Great for business conferences not so good for tourists wanting to see the city centre.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room facing the river firstly for the view and secondly to be away from the noisy t...
