One of the well known places in Vienna for shopping, a nice and vibrant street with a lots of shops, some restaurants. Good for a walk and it ends right at the museums quartier (or you can start from there).

As the other reviewers had mentioned that this is a shopping paradise, which retailed stores and restaurants are filled on both sides of street. We walked from our hotel( Hotel Das Tyrol) which is located on the end of the Mariahilfer Strasse nears the museum side on a chilly evening, which we noticed the retailed stores are mostly mid ranged, bars, cafe and restaurants were not as crowded, but liked most of the commercial strip in Vienna, it’s clean and well maintained. It’s very commercialized, but we enjoyed the evening walk in this safe and beautiful city.

Central shopping street with mostly known brands. Also some cafes and restaurants. Very nice to walk around at this area.

A very long shopping street.
In this street you can walk around for a whole day.
It has everything.
Clothing, shoes, restaurants, cafes, department stores and more.
Prepare your legs for a long and "difficult" walk.
But very enjoyable for the whole family.
Very simple to get there. Both on foot and in the subway.
A place not to be missed.

Our hotel was not far from this main high street and it is apparent this is one of the places you come to visit if you want to shop extensively. Numerous brands have shops along Mariahilfer Straße (including MANGO, H&M, Foot Locker, Urban Outfitters) and there are several eateries dotted here too. We ate at Le Burger, a terrific burger joint but noticed a plethora of other places to sit in and dine. Really brightly lit and illuminated at night with most shops open past 19:00. A really vibrant and safe area to stay close to.
