Owner description: The Leopold Museum is a unique treasure-house of Viennese Jugendstil, the Wiener Werkstätte and Expressionism. It is the most-visited museum of the city's hottest cultural site, the MuseumsQuartier, and it houses the most significant and largest Egon Schiele collection in the world, as well as masterworks by Secession founder Gustav Klimt. Tip: The museum's panorama windows offer a wonderful view of central Vienna with Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg Palace.

“A nice and extensive museum.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

With over 5000 works of art, spread over 5 floors, this museum has a little something for everyone - starting with classic work and ending with ultra modern art.
The museum holds an extensive collection of Gustav Klimt's work. All I can say is that it's an acquired taste.
The price is 11 Euros and there are no reductions towards the end of the day, which is a bit absurd.
Still, a recommended visit while in the Museum Quarter.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

Really enjoyed our visit. Mostly due to the special exhibit that showcased a powerful expose on children. The museum is small enough that you can see all exhibits, modern, well taken care of.

“A private collection”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013 via mobile

or at least it seemed that way to us. It was sterile and seemed to lack something. Perhaps it just that we now know we dont like Schiele and the Klint seemed mostly missing. However we did enjoy other artists and we could take pictures without flash which was good. I now have a couple of personal mementoes of the pictures i did enjoy there.

“Elegant!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

I visited the museum since I admire the work of Gustav Klimt and his disciple Egon Schiele . I was very impressed and pleased to see the great art work of the two Imperial Austrian symbolist painters, and the most prominent members of the vienna secession movement....If I ever visited Vienna again I surely will visit the modern Leopold museum again.

“Schiele paintings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

If you like Schiele's work (much better than the over-rated Klimpt) you will love this place. This is a very nice place, with a nice cafe.
