“Great location, perfect food, phantastic service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

No doubt, this restaurant in the famous Sacher Hotel is one of the best restaurants in Austria. It is called bar, but it really is a fine restaurant. It is small, historical and somehow cosy. The red colours give an almost palace like setting. Food is typical Austrian with a very fine touch. They have a superb winelist with the best wines of Austria. Staff is very attentive, service is 100 percent perfect. As the place is small, don't go there without a reservation.

“A very nice experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013 via mobile

The two of us arrived without having booked a table but we were seated at a very nice table with a wonderful view. A very good atmosphere. Both of us ordered a traditional Wienerschizel - first class made of veal.
Not inexpensive but taken quality and atmosphere into consideration well worth it.

I will defenitely come back to this beautiful restaurant!

“FINE DINING IN VIENNA AT IT'S BEST...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

A beautiful room. A gentle piano playing in the background. An attentive Maitre d and professional staff all added to a memorable evening at Hotel Sacher. We dined on traditional Viennese food. Drank a perfect pink champagne and had a wonderful evening. I believe that it is not easy to get in to.

“Fine dining in a cozy, romantic red room”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

We wanted one night of “fine dining” in Vienna and because others that we had wanted to try were already booked, our concierge reserved this for us and we were extremely pleased with this choice. It is located in the lovely old Hotel Sacher and it has a traditional, classic Viennese ambiance in a romantic, cozy, elegant and stylish room with dark red damask walls and ceiling, with large oil paintings and crystal chandeliers. We were seated in the glass conservatory facing the Opera House. The windows are folded away in summer to make a large open terrace. Part of the ambiance was the wonderful pianist playing lovely dinner music that we very much enjoyed.

To start, my husband had the clear consumme soup which was divine and we both had the Wiener Schnitzel for our main course. It was the BEST we had ever had. Done perfectly and with it were parsley potatoes and a mixed salad. There was so much veal that we could not eat it all.

For a romantic and delicious experience, we would highly recommend this restaurant.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We had looked forward to going to the Rote Bar and had made reservations from the States. We both ordered a veal dish and when it came, the veal was to tough that we could hardly cut it much less chew it. our wait person ignored our request for water and was generally inattentive.
