We wanted one night of “fine dining” in Vienna and because others that we had wanted to try were already booked, our concierge reserved this for us and we were extremely pleased with this choice. It is located in the lovely old Hotel Sacher and it has a traditional, classic Viennese ambiance in a romantic, cozy, elegant and stylish room with dark red damask walls and ceiling, with large oil paintings and crystal chandeliers. We were seated in the glass conservatory facing the Opera House. The windows are folded away in summer to make a large open terrace. Part of the ambiance was the wonderful pianist playing lovely dinner music that we very much enjoyed.
To start, my husband had the clear consumme soup which was divine and we both had the Wiener Schnitzel for our main course. It was the BEST we had ever had. Done perfectly and with it were parsley potatoes and a mixed salad. There was so much veal that we could not eat it all.
For a romantic and delicious experience, we would highly recommend this restaurant.
