Let's get one thing straight. When a hotel says close to the centre do some people think it means literally yards from a significant central point? Reading some of the posts about this hotel draws me the conclusion that some people think the above mentioned is exactly what it means. What utter tosh.

This hotel is 300 yards from a bus stop which can take you the further 500 yards to the nearest tube station or if you fancy walking it's around 800 yards to the nearest tube station. Jump on the U1 line, four stops and about 5 minutes later and you are in St Stephens Square - smack bang in the centre of Vienna. With the tube system very easy to understand this hotel is perfect for any trip to Vienna.

The staff were very friendly and the room was clean spacious and modern. My only negative would be that 15 Euro's per person for breakfast was IMO a bit excessive. Although it was an all you can eat buffett unless you stuffed yourself silly it wasn't worth the money.

All in all a good place to stay and please ignore the "not in a central location" rubbish.

This hotel is for you if you care about a nice stay more than a super location. The hotel is geared towards business travelers and the rooms are well-equiped as a result. The free internet on the computer on first floor was a real deal clincher for us, very handy in checking out things to do everyday before heading out into the city.
The underground station is a bit of a walk (7--10mins) and can be a bit tricky late in the night since the hotel is in a residential neighborhood which can get quite deserted.
All in all good value for money.

This is a modern-ish 7-storey hotel located in a non-descript suburb. However, it is quite close to the International Vienna Centre across the river, taking 15 minutes on foot or just two stops on the underground. It's a 5-minute walk + 12-minute underground ride to StephenPlatz (city centre).

The hotel was fine enough, with friendly staff. I didn't try the breakfast, which looked quite good. My room was quite big, with the bathroom much smaller in proportion. There was only a shower - no bath.

All in all, not a bad choice for the low price obtained via Internet booking. The only negatives were relatively minor: My room had a connecting door and so I could hear the neighbours a bit too much, and the room was little bit too warm (but you can open the windows).

I stayed at Vienna Austria Trend Lassalle Hotel for several days in October 2010.
I found an excellent low price online, reflecting the fact that the hotel is situated far outside the main tourist areas of the city, in a mixed area of working-class apartments and recently-constructed business offices just a block from the Danube. However, the metro entrance is about an 8-minute walk away (a bus also goes to the metro entrance); and the metro line is a straight shot down to Schwedenplatz and Stephansplatz.

Pros:
- I am pretty sure the clerk gave me an upgrade from the standard rooms to a business room (top floor, filled with sunlight) when I checked in -- but she didn’t mention that she had done so.

- in-room internet access included in the room rate (although website was confusing on this point; I asked the desk staff twice on different days about internet access and was told that standard rooms have free wired access while business rooms have free wireless access; although I paid for a standard room, I believe I was on a business floor, and I only had free wireless access -- I tried the wired connection but couldn’t get any signal); note that free internet access seems to be unusual for Vienna hotels

- very clean room

- large bed

- smooth, fast check in and check out

Cons:
- no ventilation! -- it was a non-smoking room, but cigarette smoke filtered into the room during the night; the only options were to open the windows and/or turn on the desk fan provided in the room (I suspect this room would be unbearable during the hot summer months)

- inadequate soundproofing; I could distinctly hear my neighbor’s snores unless I turned on the fan

- minibar refrigerator did not work -- temperatures in the minibar were just barely lower than room temperature (I requested a room change because of this but was told that the minibars in the other rooms were also like this and that I could ask the bartender to hold my items in the bar’s refrigerator if necessary)

- safe did not seem to work

- upholstery on the chairs was looking a bit worn, although the carpet seemed much newer

- fluorescent lighting in the bathroom was too dim for a good shave

- no fitness room (desk clerk was able to suggest a fitness center some distance away for 15+ euros access, but I found a less-expensive alternative on my own)

- no iron/ironing board in room (a widespread problem in Vienna), although there was a trouser press (which I didn’t attempt to use)

- although the bed was large, the duvet was only single-sized and there was only a single, very thin and uncomfortable pillow (basically negating most of the benefits of having a large bed)

Tips:

- large supermarket, also a nearby pharmacy, just about a block away, en route to the metro entrance

- very tasty, fairly inexpensive (for Vienna) low-key Indian-style food about a block away -- had two nice lunches there

- beautiful, apparently fairly recently-constructed cathedral about a 5-minute walk away, north of the metro entrance, just off the Danube (I didn’t see any mention on this cathedral in the tourist books)

Would probably stay at this hotel again if hotels closer to the center were heavily booked with accordingly higher prices. However, do not expect any luxuries at this hotel.

Yes, the first thing eveyone's reviews say is that's it not in the centre of town. Well, you knew it when you booked it. And what were you expecting at these prices?

So - it's not in the centre of town. It's a brisk walk to Vorgartenstraße on the No.1 underground line (about 250-300m) and 3 stops from there to the city centre. The rooms are plush and spacious. An open window will give you a breath of fresh suburban air, but you'll hear high heels on the pavement - the area is fairly quiet even in the middle of the afternoon - more so at night, but the hotel is nice and the amenities decent. There's wifi and a terminal to access the internet for all us backpapers who rarely travel with laptops.

The lobby and the rooms are an upscale size and standard and the staff unobtrusive.

Great hotel, clean and very well priced if you book in advance. Not centrally located but not far either - about 5min drive (no traffic) or 15min by public transport.
Room was large and comfortable.
Check out was slow but maybe, I chose the wrong moment.
Make sure you ask for a room far away from the lifts.
In overall good value for money.

This is a nice hotel in the upcoming exhibition part of Vienna (leopoldstadt). It is clean, efficient and quiet.
One problem is that there is NOTHING close to the hotel as far as resturants etc are concerned. There is a huge supermarket close by but otherwie youhave to go into town for a meal.
Fo our puposes ie prolonged weekend in Vienna (where we both speak German) we found the hotel more than adequate.
