My wife and myself enjoyed staying at hotel The France for 5 days. The location of this hotel is perfect - a walking distance from all major sites in the inra statt .The hotel is very Close to U / S trains and very easy to travel from and to. The room is OK , clean and the air-condition was great. Breakfast buffet was fantastic and the hotel stuff were kind and helpful whenever we needed them.

Pros:
- Very close to the metro station
- Very clean
- Big room
- Very good breakfast buffet

Cons:
- Interiors of the room dated
- Clueless and sometimes rude staff
- Terrible wireless connection
- Wafer thin pillows

You could barely receive a wireless signal in my room and most parts of the hotel. Even in the lobby the connection wasn't great.

One morning during my stay, a waitress gave my table to a family while I was up to take some water. She told me to move to another table and didn't even apologize for it. The lady at the reception was one of the slowest I have ever seen. It took a very long time for her to make a sense of anything told or shown her.

The hotel is, probably, the best choice in Vienna, due to it's friendly staff, cleanliness, and excelent breakfast. The hotel is in front of the Schottentor metro station. Perfect for a honeymoon.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful.

Excellent location to start your day off exploring Vienna. Very helpful staff. Large breakfast included with our room price. Internet service was very slow. One of our two rooms had an on and off "buzzing" sound (#317) Very helpful staff. One set price to get to the airport for three people ( about a 25 minute drive).

Dear guest,
I am delighted to hear, that you not only enjoyed our excellent location but also found our breakfast up to your expectations. We know that this is an integral part of any holiday or business stay! Your comment about the 'helpful staff' which you even mentioned twice is highly appreciated and I will certainly pass it on.

We arrived in summer and the rooms on level 5 and others are discustingly hot! Unbarable! The air con did not work at all. There is no ventilation in rooms and the original (supposedly upgraded) room was very basic. It got hotter as the night went on.after second call at 1130pm at night we got a fan- this is meant to be 5 star and very expensive for what it is.
You have to pay for decent tv in English. Wifi a pain to log on.
Not at all 5 star. Breaky nice. Very daggy decor in breakfast room.
We eventually got upgraded but would not recommend this hotel for price and don't expect 5 star.
Pleasant staff though

This hotel has a great location, just out of the bustling tourist areas, with transport connections a few metres away or a short walk into the heart of the city.
The room we had was large and excellent, on the top floor, but was let down by poor housekeeping standards.
Breakfast room was very busy, breakfast buffet was excellent, but again let down by poor junior staff.
It would appear the hotel employed a number of young, inexperienced people, who need to be better trained.
A typical 4 star hotel aimed at tourists, lacking the finer details of a top class hotel.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your feedback.
Nice to read that you enjoyed the location, your room and the excellent breakfast.
Just a few words regarding the 'poor junior staff'. You are right, during the summer months we are working with trainees from various hotel schools and colleges. Mostly they are very well educated and certainly service-oriented, but we will better pay attention to their training in the future.
I look forward to again welcoming you to Vienna and the De France. Kindest regards,
Michael Pohn, General Manager
