Excellent location! Beautiful classic upscale hotel. If you want to feel that you are in Vienna, then stay at this hotel! Five stars in service, details, cleanliness, comfort. Water bottles, excellent Chocolates and prunes were provided every day. I only would add a Coffee machine in the room.

Historic, landmarked hôtel, great location in front of the Opera House and in the middle of the pedestrian zone.
The place is filled with memories and it shows on the walls. Very nice staff.
I had a suite, upgraded because I used amex to book this splendid residence. The down side for me was the room service, not as good as it should be for this kind of hotel ( towel removed and not replaced, twice the same bottle of shampoo but no bath gel......) these small details who make an hotel excellent on every aspects
But, go for it and get spoilt!!!

Sacher Wien was the highlight of our European trip. The hotel is beyond a doubt one of Europes finest. Located directly across the street from the opera its the perfect spot for those that like a James Bond style evening of Fine Champagne beautiful interiors and Black Tie events.
Our Room was flawless with the finest linens, museum quality paintings in room and throughout the hotel even in the hallways and staircases.
The Common areas are some of the finest in the world with dramatic colors and finishes and Old world European luxury everywhere.
Possibly the finest breakfast buffet anywhere in Europe.
One of the highlights was that we were watching the ballerinas practice on the 3rd floor of the symphony hall preparing for their performance that night (which was outstanding)

For the activities we were going to undertake in the 5 days we stayed in Vienna, Hotel Sacher Wien was absolutely perfect as perfect can be: watch La Traviata @the Vienna State Opera on our first night, then the ballet "Sylvia", attend the Johann Strauss & Mozart concert @the Kursalon concert hall, shopping and dining along Stephansplatz, visiting Stephansdom ~ Vienna's Cathedral, viewing renowned Impressionistic paintings @the Albertina museum, watch the training of the Lippizaner horses @The Spanish Riding School, sample the famous Sachertorte @our hotel's Café Sacher Wien without queuing outside...So ten-out-of-ten on Hotel Sacher Wien's location.

Second was the topnotch service especially of the Filipino staff of the hotel. Special mention goes to Jojo @the Café Sacher Wien, who unflappably got all the chaotic orders of a very hungry group of 12 right, while giving us some tidbits of interesting information about the hotel and the area around us, fielding our questions with aplomb. Then there was the first-rate service of Housekeeping, not only attending to every detail of my scribbled notes taped to our bathroom mirror asking for this or that, but also keeping our room immaculately clean, always with warm smiles.

Third was Concierge ~ ever-ready to cater to our whims for transportation, visits, restaurants, private tours, advice of any kind with the patience of Job and the knowledge of Solomon. Kudos!

Last but not least were our elegant chandeliered rooms (with five-star amenities and toiletries, lovely turn-down service, etc.), splendid lobby, restaurant(s) and their beautiful furniture and splendid surroundings.

Hotel Sacher Wien is pretty way up there, in my humble opinion, of a hotel that delivers dreamy surroundings and dedicated service, exceeding my expectations and making our stay a truly, TRULY memorable one. Thank you!

The Hotel Sacher Wien is magnificent and has a terrific location across from the Opera House and right at the beginning of the Kärntner Straße, Vienna's most important pedestrian shopping street. Our room came with included full breakfast, which is exceptional (including all the Sacher tort you might lust for) with service as elegant as the food, and even the housekeeping was notable (pretty much full service twice a day). Even the luggage service, arriving and departing, was memorably quick and helpful.
So why not five stars? The sole disappointment was a friendly but surprisingly inefficient and poor concierge desk. We had to follow up several times on requested reservations and other requests, and when we asked whether tie and jacket would be appropriate at the Symphony, we were told quite firmly that what I had on (a sweater) was more appropriate; in fact, nearly every adult male wore a tie and jacket, and many were wearing suits.
Aside from the disappointing concierge performance, the Sacher Wien ranks with the very best.
