We only visited the restaurant, but found this to be the most wonderful place with wonderful service, food, staff and standards. Genteel atmosphere but not stuffy. The world-famous Sachertorte is well worth trying!

Stayed here for 2 nights in Feb 2012 and the hotel and service was simply stunning. On arrival I received complimentary fruit and chocolate cake in my room and a handwritten welcome note. The room itself was beautifully decorated and the bathroom had a separate bath and shower. The room had a dvd player and ipod dock with surround sound! You can borrow DVDs from downstairs which was a nice touch since I was on a business trip on my own and wanted a quiet night in. I ate at a private function one night in the hotel and the food was also excellent. All in all a very pleasant stay!

It really isn't hard to say that if you can afford the price, you should stay here. It is a well placed, elegant hotel with top notch service and beautiful rooms. Unlike so many high-end chain hotels, it is distinctly a part of the city it is in, rather than being the same formula reproduced in so many locations. The staff were attentive and helpful, requests such as additional pillows were promptly attended to and the concierge excelled in finding a very obscure meal request within 20 minutes for the same Saturday evening.

The hotel facilities are good but you would always want to venture farther than the hotel lobby in a city like Vienna, although that said the bar and cafe attached are very good (particularly if you are a chocolate fan, which is a theme running through the place.) If I had one criticism, it would be that despite having a suite with a double aspect, the room had no real view, being only onto two internal light-well type courtyards, so I was unsure what class of room was needed for a good city view. And Vienna is such a pretty city, especially in winter at night, this was my only disappointment.

We didn't stay at the hotel itself but the restaurant for lunch and the store itself are amazing . There homemade tortes are amazing. Chocolates, cookies, jam and beautiful decorated handmade chocolates. The building itself is amazing.

Stayed one night on the way to Athens, Christmas Eve . Couldn't get a table at the price fix dinner so had dinner sent up. Super food and service. Great view from our upgraded suite room, looking at the opera, with a fog that had set in, unreal. The food was great and the service outstanding. Great overall family experience. Next day seamless transfer to the airport, smiles all the way. Only downside was the spa was booked solid and wife couldn't get a treatment, but then again we didn't book ahead. Would stay again and recommend

Despite the fact theat we were a big family group staying here, these people seem to care for every single client individually! Anything you ask is possible.
The rooms are classic and grand with all comforts and amenities! Finally the have a free wifi :)

Their cafe could have been better as their food menu there is rather poor and not so successful - it's a pity really! Their breakfast is TOP CLASS and you are spoiled for choice!

Service is impeccable, friendly and warm. Crowds are classy and chic but you feel equally comfortable with your jeans.
We are returning guests for years and...there are many good reasons for that.

We spent a few days over Christmas in this fantastic institution and I know that we made the perfect choice.
We were upgraded to a suite at check in and we were in our room within munites after arriving.
Our suite was looking towards Albertina and the Opera newly refurbished with a lovely classical decor but with all modern gadgets as well as a huge marble bathroom with equally huge separate shower cubical all in lovely marble. All usual amenities and of the highest quality.
The staff is really first class extremely polite and friendly. The public areas are grand full of antique furniture and a warm atmosphere. Wi fi is available free in all areas of the hotel and for the ones who must, a small lounge is available for the smoking fraternity.
The restaurants are top quality and well patronised by visitors and locals. I would advise you to book tables well in advance as these get booked up very quickly.
The Hotel is a landmark in Vienna and within walking distance of the main attractions of this beautiful city and a lot of tourists visit the place even if it is to taste the famous Sacher Torte!
I know that many big name hotels are already in Vienna but for me if you want to feel you have visited Vienna then you must stay at the Sacher!

Room Tip: High rooms get better views.
