“Quirky, fun and friendly Hotel. Great location”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

I really enjoyed my stay at the 25Hours hotel. I was aware from reviews that the rooms were small, but as the décor was so interesting and the location so central, I didn't mind. Felt like our little home by the end of our 5 day trip! Yes more storage would have been better but not a deal breaker for me. Our bed was large, as was the bathroom. Nice touches like the ipod dock really add to the room. The restaurant was great for dinner, if you are looking for something casual (pizza, pasta etc), and the selection at breakfast could not have been better! The rooftop bar has a nice chilled vibe and the view is amazing. Perfect for a pre dinner drink. Location wise, it is right beside Museum Quarter, the subway and within walking distance to a main shopping area. I found the staff to be unbelievably helpful and friendly. From letting you sneak into breakfast at 10:32, to giving great restaurant and bar recommendations, to putting together detailed tourist "packs", the staff never let us down and were just so lovely. Our visit to Vienna was really made by the wonderful experience at this hotel and I could not recommend this more highly for young couples. Also they have a photo booth in reception - how could you not love this place!

Room Tip: Rooms on the courtyard side are very quiet but view is not great.

We were on a city break for four days and i couldnt ask for a better place to stay...

Hotel was in a very good location, for a stroll, the metro station was just around the corner and you could reach anywhere you want to go ... shopping area, the prater, the palaces...

Hotel was really unusual in a fun and quirky way, we stayed in one of the the panoramic suits which had a beautiful view of Royal Vienna, over all the suit was very comfortable and i loved the organic soap, shampoo conditioner etc...
Breakfast was nice and had a good variety of everything...

I recommend to have a drink in the bar on the top floor. The latter was always full therefore we couldnt make it in the evenings for a drink before going back to the suit. It seemed like it was a very popular place and there was constantly a line of people waiting to go in... We even tried speaking to reception to see if we can book as guest of the hotel but we were told that they will try but its not likely that they will manage to get us in. At the end we were tired to wait therefore we just went the next day early evening... view was great and the atmosphere was relaxing and chilled (i presume it will have a different feel once the place is packed).
If you like burgers then try the burgers in the "caravan" on the side of the hotel, we had to wait to be able to get a seat and due to the high demand had to have a few beers before our burgers were served but at the end it was well worth it.

If you are looking for a unusual however fun place with friendly staff and a good location to all the tourist sites than you should try it!

Loved the room, but very frustrated with wi-fi. A fun, funky hotel for a family traveling with small children. The real frustration was trying to get work done while kids went to sleep early. Constantly lost connection and finally had to go in the bathroom to make phone calls so I wouldn't wake anyone. The hotel needs to realize their demographic is 20-30 year olds connected to their electronics and add more bandwidth. Other than that, loved it!
Very accommodating for our 2 granddaughters with celiac disease needing gluten free bread, pasta, etc, although we would not have known unless our waitress had the same condition and told us to request it.

Room Tip: Our panorama suite (714) on the corner, had a great set up for 2 adults and 2 small children, alth...

We asked for a room looking onto the street, we were given an internal room, no apology. The reception staff need training in “customer service”, perhaps all the staff should have an extensive and intensive training course in this area , they don't seem to cope very well with work, for example, the bar was completely full with young people crammed like sardines so we asked Florian on reception if it was possible to have a drink in the restaurant. There are 3 possible replies to this question from a paying guest "yes sir" "No sir" "I don't know sir, I'll find out", not "I don't know, I'm reception, go and ask them". The hotel seems to be geared to people from outside, the bar is extremely popular, so much so that it is difficult and sometimes impossible to use. We managed to go in twice, just after they opened at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, there are great views from the bar. We never managed to use the restaurant because, although it was mostly empty, all the tables were booked; they need to understand that the same table can be used more than once! There is a burger van which is part of the hotel, we asked them what time they closed, he said 8 oclock, we said we would come back at 7.30. We went back at 7.30 and he had closed as his boss had told him to because it had rained for 5 minutes. This was very disappointing; any hotel with pretentions of 4 stars would not do this knowing that a guest was returning. We complained at reception, they took our room number, we were expecting an apology, however not a word. I think this hotel is not coping very well with its success. The breakfast was ok, a bit limited but most of the food was good quality, the 2 coffee machines were located at one end of the buffet so if you were sitting at the other end you had to walk quite a long way with cups, why not have one coffee pot at each end instead of both together? The room was small, the bathroom was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, the tv was attached to a pillar at the foot of the bed which encouraged watching tv in bed however there were no bedside tables to place drinks on! The tv programmes were a bit limited if you don’t speak German. We ate at the same place every night a short walk away, called Glacis Beis, which has a varied enough menu of fantastic Austrian and Hungarian food, we had the schnitzel, goulash, lambs cream goulash (brilliant sauce), Guinea fowl (superb) Ravioli, all really nice so we kept going back. Public transport in Vienna was excellent, 15 euros for a 7 day pass which gave unlimited travel on metro, tram and bus. The hotel is well located for all 3 services. We went to a nearby bar called das mobe which was interesting because all its furniture is for sale. We took a boat trip to Bratislava, quite expensive and quite boring, train or bus would have been better. Anyway, Vienna was great, but we won’t be staying at this hotel if we return.

Room Tip: Standard rooms appear to be quite small

Dear cantabria

We are really sorry to hear about your service experiences which you made at our hotel. We like to apologize and we had already a management team meeting to discuss the facts with our staff.
For breakfast we always offer our guests to order coffee specialties as well, which we serve directly to the tables.
Spread over seven storeys, the 219 private retreats offer all 25hours’ standard features: ultra comfortable beds, air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a minibar, an iPod docking station, sustainable toiletries and free Wi-Fi.
All of the rooms feature an interesting combination of materials, shapes, colours and accessories lovingly put together by the creative team from Dreimeta. The smallest rooms, classed as M, provide cosy accommodation with a minimum size of 17 to 22 square metres and overlook our quiet courtyard or Lerchenfelder Straße.
The box-spring beds seem to be wearing high heels, floating a dizzying 70 centimetres above the floor but remaining slender and eye-catching with their turned front legs. Another striking feature is the glass panel separating the shower in the bathroom, which can either be left transparent or cleverly concealed with a flexible shutter. We offer five more categories, which are larger. For example our XL rooms: The XL category is a real highlight of the 25hours hotel in Vienna with an extra feature which you won’t find in any other city hotel. These four sensational rooms are sized between approximately 25 and 45 square metres and surprise guests with an open-air bath on a private balcony. These exclusive terraces offer a panoramic view of Weghuberpark, allowing guests to enjoy Vienna’s sights as they soak in a nice hot bath. All of the rooms feature a stunning combination of materials, shapes, colours and accessories put together by our creative team.

We really hope for another chance, so that we can convince you of our 25hours Hotels and services.

Best regards

Karen Lichtsinn

We had a panorama suite on the 6th floor, large with good views and a small kitchenette. I can't speak to the other rooms, but this was a great setup for our 5-night stay in Vienna. Bizarre clown paintings on the wall, but you know that from the hotel's website. Comfortable firm bed (I like firm beds).

Excellent location -- right next the MuseumQuartier with all its wonderful museums, cafes and restaurants, as well as right next to a convenient U-Bahn stop, and also very close to the ring and inner quarter. We actually preferred this location to inside the ring, as it felt less touristy. The inner quarter felt to us like NYC's Times Square, while this felt less touristy, younger and more real. And you could still walk to inside the ring in a very short time, or take the tram or U-Bahn in no time at all. We mostly walked, but their U-Bahn system is excellent.

Modern and funky, almost industrial, design and furnishings. The room could use a little more lighting but it was fine. The bathroom was very well lit.

Room was very clean with one exception: there was, sadly, some mildew in two of the shower corners. Also the kitchenette had a dirty coffee cup in the dishwasher. But, after our stay, we got a feedback form by email from the hotel manager. I filled it out and alerted them and she said they were already on it. So I'd trust that it would be better the next time.

I will warn you that it is a very young and hip hotel -- we felt old and a little unhip for the place and we are only in our late 30s! The rooftop bar is quite a scene; it was too packed for us to get up there.

WiFi was the only big issue. Of the 5 nights, we could only get on to their WiFi about 2 of them. They told us sometimes it's hard when many people are logging on. Seems to us they need to upgrade their WiFi. Luckily we had brought a portable MiFi jetpack but business travelers should beware.

Front desk staff is all very young but very helpful. They gave us restaurant recommendations that were not tourist traps, which we appreciated greatly.

We followed the advice of other reviews and requested a 6th floor room rather than 7th floor room to be away from the rooftop bar noise. I have no idea if the 7th floor was loud, but our room was very quiet... except for the last night, when a really drunk guy outside kept shouting until 4:30 in the morning. I couldn't see him on the street, and I think he was on a balcony on the 5th floor directly below us. So all that worrying about being away from the bar was for naught -- we should have worried about being away from the 5th floor balconies!

Only other minor complaint is that while the front desk staff were all very nice and helpful, one of them on duty a particular day didn't know anything about heurigers, which we wanted to visit. She actually had to look it up online! She also wasn't able, unlike the rest of the staff, to give us any restaurant recommendations other than to walk around in a neighborhood and pick something. She confessed that she had only been living in the city for about a month. I'm sure her knowledge of destinations and recommendations will improve with time, but they should ideally train their new staff on these items, or train them to get another person to help if they don't know the answer. She was very nice, though, and all of them were otherwise excellent and very helpful.

Other than the WiFi, these were minor flaws, and we would totally stay here again.

I loved the concept of the hotel which is very quirky and you notice new things each time you walk through. The rooms are well decorated in the circus theme, quite spacious and very clean. The restaurant was also very nice with a good breakfast buffet selection; they also have a burger van in the garden which serves really good burgers at good prices.
The rooftop bar is lovely with excellent views over the city and a nice atmosphere in the evenings. The spa is also a lovely place to relax but for the type of hotel it is I do not expect to have to pay for entry and there is no swimming pool.
The hotel also lacks simple things such as room service and tea and coffee facilities which is frustrating as you have to go down to the restaurant and buy this if you want one, you cannot even request a kettle in a standard room.
The location is very good, easy to get into the city centre and overall it is a very nice hotel. It just needs some attention to detail

Location: The hotel is situated near the major museums of Vienna. I never used public transport during my 3-day holiday, I just walked everywhere. Even walked to the opera house to watch Aida (took a little more than 20-minutes in flats).

Hotel: So clever and inspired, and lots of attention to design detail. I had a lot of fun just looking around the place. The reception staff were friendly and eager to help. The hotel restaurants and bar seem to be very popular with the fashionable set, but the overall vibe was open and fun.

Restaurants: I skipped the main restaurant and went to their food truck outside instead, which serves burgers, etc. More affordable, and the weather was great, so I was happy.

Bar: Went to the rooftop bar, which had excellent views of the city. Just one hitch - the sitting areas seem to be made for groups, so it felt quite awkward for me as a solo patron. No bar seating.

Bedroom: Loved it. There's a circus-themed mural on one wall that awed me. I had an M+ room, which I think is roomier than the M room. The large window faced outward onto a nice fountain and you can see the tops of the buildings surrounding it. Beautiful view. There's a nice guidebook from the hotel on the desk, featuring Viennese locals talking about their favorite places in the city, which I found extremely useful.

Bathroom: Big. Strong water pressure, nice toiletries. Thick towels.

Nice touches: You can borrow their dutch bikes for free. You can also borrow an iPad from them, with a deposit. Free wifi.
