“discover how grandma really did dumplings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

the owners are reinventing the austrian bohemian legendary kitchen, adding some fresh ideas, but keeping it authentic and amazing. very relaxing environment, most local people & their guests. lean back after a busy day and be delighted.

affordable to students, top sophisticated meals, execellent neighbourhood the "augarten" where you can linger before meal and rest after a busy day with tourist stuff....

“Wonderful non-touristy place!”

Had a really nice meal. Incredibly unique restaurant. Definitely off the beaten path. About one mile walk from Praterstern (or take the tram). Great last night in Vienna!

“Traditional food in an original atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

A friend living in Vienna invited us to this place. Be advised that you will need a booking.

The restaurant definately has character, it seems like one of those traditional Austrian / Habsburg restaurants you would expect in Vienna. The interirior is lightend up by some modern art on the wall - not everyone's a fan, but it blends in rather well.

The food is traditional austrian / czech. The menu is the exact opposite to what you would find in a stylish restaurant - a collection of papers with handwritten notes all over. The value is superb, as is the quality of the food. We paid ca. 50 Euros for three people with a main course and dessert as well as drinks.

You should definately leave some room for the deserts, they're superb.

“Great food, great service, great atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

The only place I went back to twice during my visit to Vienna. The food was good it was quite cheap, the waiters really nice and helpful.
Second time we went back the restaurant was completely full - on a Tuesday. It might be a good idea to reserve a table before going out there.
Highly recommendable.
