Very cosy restaurant. The food was delicious and the sparkling wine too. Very helpful and friendly stuff. If you are looking for a place with mostly local people and not tourists, try this Gasthaus! Not too expensive, and only accept cash!

Fusion in Vienna! It was! Duck on a bed of mash with shredded ginger, scallions and a little chilli! So so so good, deserts to die for. Creme brûlée, coffee style with caramel ice cream, oh! Then the wine, by the glass or the bottle, same price! Where else do you get that. Crisp and dry the grunge veltliner- local stuff. If you wanted to drink the beer then you could. Atmosphere was very local, your mum's kitchen and happy people. Go for it !

Welcomed into this wonderful Viennese Restaurant right from the start made to feel at home and relaxed. We hadn't tried Viennese food before and took advice from the owner. This proved a good decision as she talked at length with us about likes and dislikes and then suggested wine to go with our choice. The food was delicious and the wine very very good. We also had a Viennese sparkling wine which was new to me and of course I promptly forgot its name which made for a frustrating time at other places we went. If you are looking for a retaurant filled with locals and not tourists and want good food then this is a very good choice and it is not too expensive. Be warned though it's cash only

Had a delightful lunch here. Tried to walk here from Hotel Austria, but Google maps referred to Rechte Wienzeile as Karlspl./B1 and that threw us for a loop, so since we were at Karlsplatz we took the U4 from there to Pilgramgasse and walked from there. We should have just picked up the U4 at Swedenplatz and forgot about doing the 45 min walk. We were greeted warmly and given the Austrian menu with prices and a card of English translations with no prices. Note that the inexpensive lunch menu (or special) is fixed -- no choices. The choices you're shown in English are all "a la carte". This seems to be standard practice in Vienna. The lunch menu special (half to a third the price of 2 courses from the carte) is not normally on the menu/carte, it's posted only outside. In this case, however, we'd seen it on their website, and the owner told us about it, as well. My wife ordered that (cauliflower soup and pumpkin & goat cheese strudel with white cream sauce), and I, thinking the card with no prices contained alternative choices of starters and mains for the lunch menu (silly me), ordered from that--thinly sliced ham starter and main of Salmon on a slice of pumpkin with veggies in the middle and a nice sauce. Nonetheless, the food was excellent and I even ordered their chocolate souffle for dessert. They had several well-priced Zweigelts, which we'd never tried, so we ordered one, Smid 2011, and it was excellent -- and the stemware was very nice -- good-sized crystal glasses. We were served by the owner, who was as charming as she could be, and we had a delightful meal. Furnishings are simple but elegant. Note that they accept only cash. We highly recommend it.

We arrived early at the restaurant but were welcomed inside warmly. The potatoes and scallops appetizer was amazing, as were our main dishes. The house specialty dessert of chocolate soufflé was so good! The place fills with joyful locals quickly. Please go! :)
