“Historic cafe”

A visit at Cafe Central is really a must when one finds themselves in Vienna. You could really feel the history in the atmosphere. Great selection of pastries, what we tried was delicious and the service impecable. Beautiful festive lighting from outside. I have to say that I enjoyed a couple of other cafes in Vienna even more but would definitely recommend it for one visit.

“crowded with tourists”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

I love the place, with it's art nouveau decor, the pastry, the coffee, everything! Bad thing is it's packed with tourists, well how could I complain! I was one of them!

“Cafe central”

Due to it being on the tourist map it is a wait to get in.
Very lovely Viennese cafe but you are surrounded by tourists and the Americans are so loud which is really off putting.
Shame as otherwise its faultless as a true Viennese cafe with good service and good cafe style food.

“Not Just The Strudel”

Most people are there for the fantastic coffees and pastries, but we had lunch there, and it didn't disappoint, with excellent and reasonably priced traditional Austrian dishes - my Tafelspitz was superb. And apart from peoples' dress, when you look around this extraordinary arched building, you could have slipped back a century in time.

“Authentic old world cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

We went knowing we would have to wait and prepared for slightly lacking service. Very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted with smiles, served quickly and very friendly. Yes, it is not cheap but what does one expect wjen in a cultural city? Cheaper than a hot chocolate at angelinas in Paris for sure! We are a family with 3 daughters and ate dinner with desserts for under 85 euros(tip too). Highly recommend it if you are looking for a true Austrian cafe!
