“Unique cafe with vibrant setting, free wifi.”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

When you walk in, you'll see it's not an ordinary cafe. The ceilings are arched, there's a piano man, and the waiters are dressed like hotel concierges.

I really enjoyed how casual the atmosphere was while the setting and service were very classy.

I wasn't very hungry so I just had the grilled chicken cafe salad. It was good. Large portions of chicken with a tasty dressing, caper popcorn (exactly what it sounds like), and crouton-like bread pieces. 8.70€.

There is no extra tax or service fee. There is a minimum charge if 10€ to use credit card.

“wonderful cakes but a stuffy tourist place”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

The service here is a little unhelpful and unfriendly. Very little effort was made to explain seating, or the cakes or, well anything. It was a long wait to place an order. The strudel and other cake we ahd were really delicious but lots of cafes in Vienna have wonderful cakes. I would not recommend, I just didn't enjoy it enough

“Bit touristic, but still good”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

If you hate group tourists, avoid here. There are always group tourists. But still, this cafe offers you both good food and fine coffee. One of the best cafe in Wien.

“Unique and chic! ”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

During our visit in Vienna, our friend took us to Cafe Central on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The line was long at the entrance, but it was worthwhile. It took us about 15 minutes to get a table, but what an ambience and great decor. The food was great, both the shnitzel and the potatoes soup. The highlights were the pastries:such colors and tastes. You should see my pictures...and all at very reasonable prices. We loved and we will be back.

“Was expecting more”
Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

The food was decent, nothing to write home about. We had the cheese and pumpkin dumplings, and the goulash. The building inside is quite nice, and while there was supposed to be a piano player from 5-10pm, he was not playing for most of our stay.
Service is typical Viennese cafe, leisurely. Dont come expecting for a quick meal.
