“Different thing to visit in Vienna”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

Most people who visit Vienna dont even think about coming here, or just dont know about UN Headquarters in Vienna. Anyone interested in international relations would be happy to be here. Bring your passport and you are ready to go. Best part is conference rooms where meetings are held, makes you feel like one of the deputees.

“Great place to visit and learn”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Take a look inside the most important institution of our time. if you're lucky you can see a conference in action. And do not be afraid to ask during the guided tours. It is cheap as well!

“Not too be missed!!”
Reviewed September 23, 2013

The UN complex in Vienna is only one of four in the world and this is an excellent opportunity to take a tour into the inner workings of one of the largest political organizations of the world. The tour is every weekday at 11 am and 2 pm and you need to carry your passport as the complex is on international grounds. For only 6 euro the tour is an eye opener to some of the causes that are being faced by people worldwide and also an introduction to human rights.

“When are you in Vienna but NOT in Vienna?”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

An interesting question and one that most people think is not possible, but it is! When you enter the UN complex in Vienna you enter a new territory because it is not land controlled by Vienna / Austria but by the UN. You need your passport and you need to go through the multiple security checks just to get in. Once in to do the tour one has to purchase a ticket - passport essential or EU ID card - and then one joins a tour of the complex. The guide I had was wonderful as she answered questions and talked with easy explanations and showed us parts one would possibly not usually see. This was because there were only 2 of us. We saw the chambers that had recently been refurbished and reopened due to asbestos concerns. We walked through the complex with explanations of the different agencies in Vienna and the space museum exhibition. There are 6 places in the world where the UN is located and so the city name in the title can be changed to five other places. Ones I can remember - New York, The Hague, Nairobi, Geneva, the other is for you to find out. This is a really worthwhile tour to take and experience. If your guide is as great as mine then you will gain so much from the experience.

“Interesting visit to the united nations office”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Joined the tour of the united nations in Vienna. Stepping into the UN office is like entering a different country. you will need a passport and am not sure if one can even enter without joining the tour which range in price from Euro 4 to 6 per adult. The general tour last a bit over an hour and is quite interesting. The group is taken to see a number of offices including the general assembly office. A short film is also part of the tour. Found it an interesting visit. Not one of the main attractions of Vienna but if you have a longer visit, defenitely a worthwhile visit. the uban (kaisermuhlen exit on the U1 line)drops you a very short distance away from the main entrance.
