“Sumptuous and vast”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

The collection is incredible - masters to modern. The galleries are vast but never make you feel remote from the art. It took nearly 2 hrs on a rainy day to see just about half (we skiped the antiquities). The only real draw back was it was a little stufy - atmospherically speaking as well as environmentally. Formality trumps all here but over all I found it to be a splendid museum.

This museum was the best experience ever _ being able to view the pictures in a relaxed way was brilliant Cafe a bit snobby though

“World class art museum”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

It's a shame that in the list of world class art museums-Louvre, Prado, Hermitage--one doesn't immediately think of the Kunsthistorisches in Vienna. We very happily spent a day there! Get there when it opens, rent the audioguide, study the map and prioritize your choices. You will not be disappointed!

We broke for lunch in the on site restaurant.

Don't miss the chance to see this wonderful museum!

“Wunderbar! A 'must visit' in Vienna”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I bought a multi museum ticket for 18 Euros and this museum was on the list. Beautiful building in and out. If you have a backpack or similar it needs to go in a locker. I only made it to the first floor ( spent more than an hour there) admiring the fantastic art.
Do try and include this museum on your visit. You won't be disappointed.

“Worth the Visit”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I visited many museums throughout my 2 weeks trip in Europe; and this one impressed me although I dont understand paintings. The floor & details are grande; many paintings, some Egyptian arts. Very recommended.
