Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

We took the subway train from Vienna, an easy trip. Well worth the visit. The castle is beautiful, one of the most thorough tours we've seen. I especially loved viewing the Imperial Apartments, you get a great glimpse of what life was like for the Royal family. We probably enjoyed strolling the grounds just as much. Long garden paths, ponds and fountains and -- don't miss the greenhouse! Give yourself several hours, it is worth the stop.

I don't need 100 characters for this review, because Schonbrunn's other reviews tell the story. Bottom line - if you have one day in Vienna, you should spend it here. And by day, I mean day. If you flew around, it would take 3 hours. If you really want to get a full view on this spectacular complex, spend the whole day, including trips to the zoo and other attractions.

Wow! Don't miss this palace just outside the city. We did both this palace and the one in town and this one was far superior. Beautiful grounds and excellent audio guide tour. Be sure to choose the longer tour - it is worth it!

I will not write a book about the extraordinaire place this is, I am sure other reviews are full of it. Just one tip, visit Schonbrunn in the middle or near the end of your stay in Vienna because after this all the rest will look like not much special.

Very good audio guide.

Although Schonbrunn is about 10 minutes away from the hype of Vienna, it is one of the most spectacular places you can visit in Austria. Both the palace and the gardens are impressive both by their beauty and their magnificence. Schonbrunn is a must-see while in Vienna. Take your time to visit the palace but also save some energy for strolling the gardens and taking some pictures.
