Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

It's worth taking your time to stroll in the garden. There are some tour options but I recommend Grand Tour.

The palace belonging to the Hapsburg dynasty must be seen to be believed, the gardens are a picture in the summer and the numerous fountains are a nice place to take a rest. My advice would be to get there early as to do the palace tour and the gardens can take you a full day. It is easy enough to find, hop on the train and follow the crowd. They have a great shop there where you can purchase books on the palace, as there is much to see and two words that springs readily to mind would be, grandeur and opulence. Have a great day visiting here!

A sort ride on the Metro, six stops from the Vienna Centre, and there you are.
Allow a full day if you are exploring the Palace as well.
We paid and visited the Imperial Carriage Museum and the Zoo, which was a delight and the gardens. Lovely day. Regards Gary Saunders

it was so nice to wander around here on a beautiful sunny day. The palace is very pretty, we walked around in a few rooms, but the grounds behind it are really fantastic. Lose yourself in the gardens and just have a great wander!

The Hapsburg's sure had a great taste for palaces. The front facade and courtyard welcome you with a sense of wealth and importance. Inside, the ornate and richly decorated rooms are very interesting and beautiful. The garden makes for a nice stroll at the end of the tour. The Schonbrunn palace is a must if you are visiting Vienna.
