Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

The Palace and its gardens are beautiful in summer. The Palace still has its past glory and the gardens are fantastic to go jogging or walking with friends. We went there for a walk last winter. The park is all grey and covered with a list frost and snow. But the view you get of the city in the top of the Palace gardens is beautiful! Worth going!!

We visited Vienna for Christmas and decided to send the girls to visit the Schonbrunn Palace. Worst decision ever! Their customer service sucks. We had an interaction with one of the guided tours speaker and he treated us like ***. When we mentioned to him that we paid to visit the place and would like to be treated with respect and appreciation, he backfired telling us that he really does not care if people visit the place or not. Needless to say, we were shocked and one of our girls left crying.

I like the decoration inside this palace. It gives me the better impression than the Palace of Versailles in France. Here it looks like real royal residence, ordinary perfectly meets luxury, unlike Versailles where I found that they just put everything (decoration, high-valued paintings, and so on) in as much as possible.

I would recommend taking at least "Grand tour" (There is a cheaper ticket "Imperial Ticket" which you can see less rooms.) I found that the room included in the Grand tour, which are not included in Imperial ticket, are lovely.

The audio guide (included in the ticket) is not that good for me, since they talk a lot about some important royal people which is pretty bad if you do not know how they are all related. Make sure you read a bit history before you get in with Audio guide.

WARNING: If you plan to buy ticket with cash, make sure you get into the ticket booth, located at the front entrace gate of the palace, before you walk into the entrace at the palace building, where there is only a machine to buy ticket with Credit card or Debit (Bankomat) card.

If you like ornate decor, beautiful architecture, elaborate furniture, art, statues and tableware - this is a feast for the eye. If you visit in winter - there is a bit of a walk to the palace - not all of it under cover.
