Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

“Romantic Palace and Park”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

It was my 10th visit to Vienna and Schoenbrunn Park and Royal Palace. It has become a good tradition for me to spend a day at Schoenbrunn. If on Sunday when it is nice to start the morning with breakfast with piano music in the Gloriette facing the palace. When one may walk along the paths of the park feeding lots of squirrels. In sunny weather the park alleys are shadowed and comfortable. The best time to pay a visit to the palace is out-of-the-season (late spring-summer), when there are fewer tourists. The palace witnessed Sissi, Maria Theresia, Napoleon and other royalties.

“Opulence, History, and Beauty”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

The Hapsburgs at their best. There is so much history on display with not-to be-believed beauty and craftsmanship. The size is overwhelming. So, choose a portion of the palace and take the time to really experience it saving 30 mins for a walk in the gardens.

“Attended an opera there”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

If you're lucky and go on a night where they are having a wedding or other event in the Orangerie, then the actual show will be IN the palace. This was a REAL treat! It's very convenient to have a nice restaurant on site so you don't feel rushed.

“Yet another palace”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Schönbrunn is a nice palace to see, and it's interesting to see the rooms within the palace. If you get the combo Sisi ticket, you get admission to the Schönbrunn Palace (full tour) as well as the State Apartments, Sisi Museum, and Silver Collection at Hofburg Imperial. However, a lot of the information on the audio guide is repeated between locations, so it can get a little dull. This is a good activity for a rainy day.

“Great tour...”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

I'm not big on palaces and museums but Schonbrunn was fantastic. The best audio guide tour that we took in Europe (Pompei and Versailles were not great); well presented and well matched with the rooms in the palace. The palace tour took just under an hour, and then we headed out into the magnificent gardens. Do NOT miss the labyrinth, a fun way to spend an hour. A 10-minute walk takes you to the summer residence which has amazing views back over the palace and over Vienna, and boasts a really nice cafe serving all manner of food and refreshments. 3-4 well spent hours in the composers' city.
