Owner description: The Cultural World Heritage Site of Schönbrunn Palace is Austria's most frequently visited tourist attraction. In the palace the residential and state rooms with their original furnishings and decorations convey an authentic impression of the imperial lifestyle. The park and gardens surrounding the palace make Schönbrunn in a unique synthesis of Baroque art as well as providing a convenient and highly popular recreational area for Vienna's population.

Schonbrunn's interior was only average for a palace but the grounds and view from the Galleria were excellent. There is a lot of walking and if you go to the Galleria you need to climb up hill.
Finding the Subway was a problem as we had come by tram and had no idea that the subway was no where near the tram stop. A local finally took us to the subway stop by tram as it was one stop past the gate where we got off.

Very easy to get to. The garden is stunning and the walk up the terrace/hill is worth the view. The palace is especially stunning on a sunny day as the yellow pops out more.

At first I thought that you need a ticket to see the parks & palace that was so famously pictured everywhere. Apparently, the park is free. You do need to pay to tour inside the palace. I personally find the palace to be average considering the price and the fact that you are not allowed to take pictures inside AT ALL (they actually yelled at you when you're sneaking a picture). Personally I think you can have a good time spending time in the big park behind and take pictures from there (and it's free). Watch out: very long queue to buy the ticket (waiting time around 30 mins in 11 pm). If you want to cut the queue, buy the ticket from the automated machine booth but they only accept credit cards.
