“Stunning beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

Exquisite architecture makes the opera house one of Vienna's more outstanding buildings. The interior is a feast for the eyes, with soaring vaulted ceilings, statuary, chandeliers, palatial staircases, frescoes, etc. if you don't go to a performance, there are tours of the building every day. A very worthwhile experience.

“Beautiful place, wonderful experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed a night at the opera in Vienna. Great tour of the Opera House and later enjoyed a dinner at the cafe. Also went outdoors and actually watched the opera Faust on the big screen while we had drinks and dessert. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable evening at an incredibly beautiful place! What a great way to celebrate a significant birthday! Really want to return and experience it all again.

“An Archetype - Must See location For Any Music Lover”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

The Opera House in Vienna is one of the finest in the world. Guided tours are done just about every day in several languages and they are worthwhile, as you get a lot of explanations and they take you backstage. Prepare to take a lot of photos.

Definitely take in a performance if you can. Last week my wife and I saw a marvelous production of Tales of Hoffman, and the last time I was in Vienna I was lucky enough to catch Verdi's Fortuna Del Destino. It is awe inspiring to be in the same house that Mahler himself conducted in. Casts of productions at this venue are always world class. This is a must see for any music lover.

“Get the standing room tickets”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

The seats are way too costly but for about 3-5 euros, you get to stand right behind some of the best seats.
To get one of the standing positions in the front, you will have to queue up about 90 mins before start.
Prefer the center standing area (1-2 euros costlier)
Even standing areas have a small screen that show subtitles. Very useful if you don't speak German

“Excellent opera tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

Very comprehensive, we went also on stage. The guide was very informative and spoke very good English.
One lesson learnt: you have to look in advance what are the tours hour for each specific day.
