Very nice tour, you will have the option to see the oprah house and the backstage with a tour guide, Check tour hours in the website before because they change all the time.

We went to Staatsoper last Friday in early December. The building is very impressive, both inside and outside. Mannon ballet is very beautiful. Worth visiting !

“Beautiful building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

The outside was all I was able to see. The building is very beautiful but I wish I could have seen the inside on a tour. I am going to have to book tickets for a performance next time i am there, may be the only way i will get to see it.

“La Boheme Was a Success”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2013

Booked seats to La Boheme in the US and had to pick them up at 6:00pm the night of the performance. Very chilly standing outside in the dark on a winter's evening. Once the doors opened the tickets were readily available, but you had to wait before going in. Once you were allowed to enter, you had to check your coat. Then we had a small plate of appitizers before being seated. The opera itself was enjoyable- 4 acts. The crowd was very appreciative and gave much applause to the singers. This was only my third opera, so I am no expert, but I am glad to have seen the performance.

“Where else can one spend 4 euros and enjoy world-class opera?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

I was determined to see an opera at this amazing venue for 4 euros. The orchestra and singers were divine!! And the 4 euro standing ticket has an amazing view at center back location. (It does not go for the 3 euro ones, as those are on the side balconies.) I am not a big opera fan, or at least not for the piece I saw, but I managed to enjoy the 5-hour-long (including the pauses) performance.

For details on the process of getting standing ticket, just google, there are many blog articles about it.

I went on a chilly Sunday afternoon. The opera "Tristan und Isolde" by Wagner starts at 5pm, I arrived at the ticket office for standing ticket at 3pm, and there were maybe 30 people already in line very well prepared (with foldable chairs). After you get the ticket ( around 4 pm and cash only), do not wander around or store your coat yet, go straight to the performance hall and stand in another line for 15 minutes. Once you secure a good location inside, marked by your scarf, then do whatever! (I went to Burger King before the performance haha).
