“Decent Hotel - should be bulldozed”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

This hotel is an eyesore in the middle of beautiful Vienna. Built around 50 years ago it looks like a block of flats from that era. What a shame it was allowed to be built.

The hotel itself is nice. We stayed in the club rooms which are very good value for money as they provide breakfast, snacks, refreshments all day, lunch, evening cocktails and canapes/ cheese etc

The room is fine although the carpets need to be replaced and the temperature is not that easy to regulate.
Overall good - shame about tye building!

Exquisite. Very friendly staff, old world charm and refinement. Expensive but worth the papering and location. Staff very friendly. Restaurant is very good, but expensive. Great 2nd honeymoon place. Nice views of the city in upper lounge.

We spent New Year's Eve in this traditional Hotel, located in front of the park. Its decor is very classical, with dark wood panelling, shining bronze fixtures and crystal chandeliers.

The check in went well ins spite a little confusion with the room assignment. They dealt with the problem very efficiently in a polite manner. The concierge service was excellent and very helpful.

The rooms have been renovated recently. We were actually surprised since they didn't match the pictures found online. The only think they kept, is their slightly modest size.

My travel companions had a child, who had his own crib in the room, with a complimentary soft toy and washing glove. And to add to this cute detail, a mini bath robe was also available for his use.

Breakfast was very good but beware to avoid peak times, since it gets very busy and you would find yourself waiting in line.

The bar besides the lobby is a great place to enjoy a quick meal and have a drink. A lot of guests were having a night cap dressed in all their finery after enjoying a Gala concert. Definitely not a common sight these days.

We definitely has an enjoyable time in the Intercontinental, which by the way, is one oft he few grand hotels who can guarantee an smoking room (indispensable for my companions) in advance.

A very good hotel with very nice interior inspite of initially strange look of mid-70s. Big and nicely furnished rooms, at least at lounge floor, and great facilities. With very good and quite central location, it is an excellent venue for a business trip to Vienna.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel before starting our Christmas Market river cruise with Avalon. The room was big, kingsize bed, very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding, every type of food you can imagine. We walked to a Christmas market from the hotel and we picked public transportation near the hotel also. There was also a really nice outdoor ice rink right next to the hotel. Highly recommend
