Owner description: This bucolic city park, the highlight of which is a gilded statue of musician Johann Strauss in its center, was established in 1862.

We took a walk through just after Christmas and although there was no snow, it was beautiful and relaxing to walk through. If you're going when it's not snowing, I recommend some bread for the mass of ducks! There is also a cool statue of Strauss which is worth a look.

We were staying in marriott vienna which was just across the street. Loved it for spending the day, lakes, greenery, flowers and status all are very relaxing. Few food stools, hire a bike station just there too

Today, in spite of the cold wind and rain I walked through much of Stadtpark. Though I was warmly dressed, I got too cold to find Franz Schubert's statue. I wished there was a map posted. I found Brahms, Strauss, Jr., Bruckner, and one of Beethoven before I walked in. The park must be lovely on a beautiful day!

We went to Stadtpark to relax in the mid-afternoon of a beautiful day.
It is spacious, and so beautiful with flowers everywhere!!!! Just gorgeous!!!
We sat on a bench for a while people watching. We strolled to the pond and watched the ducks
scurry for bread fed by park visitors. My favorites were the Johann Strauss monument (all gold in color playing the violin and gorgeous flowers to accent) and the flower clock----Both are good photo ops and just fabulous to look at.
There is also a "witterhauschen" near the pond which shows the time and temperature and many statues along the walking paths. The statue of Andres Zelinka--the mayor of Vienna from 1802-1868-- was simple but the surrounding flower garden was also beautiful. If you are looking for a break visit this park for a short time...It is lovely.

We decided to take the day slow, so we came to this park for a little picnic. There are areas where you can lay out and eat. There were plenty of people queuing to get a photo with the golden Strauss statue, which you'll probably want to do too since you're already here. A great, relaxing way to start the day. Definitely make some time to come down here.
