Vienna breathes music. It is all around you but definitely more so within the Haus der Musik. This interactive musical masterpiece surpassed all my expectations. Children will love it and adults easily become children. I will not go in any detail because I can never do justice to this wondrous place.

The museum was planned to perfection, where knowledge and fun are blended like ingredients in a recipe which simply has to be savored.

The cherry on the cake for me was conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and afterwards getting the relevant certificate.

Go for it. You will certainly not regret it.

This museum had high praise in the various guide books, but I was so disappointed. Let me describe exactly why. The third floor is devoted to the life and times of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and other composers from Vienna. I expected to be able to hear selections of music that illustrated each man's works. In fact, each room had a kiosk with head phones and a computer screen that listed the body of work for each. However, it was only a visual list--no music! Why the head phones were there was a complete mystery. Also, I thought there would be more information on the process of composing. Each room mostly had artifacts: pianos, eye glasses etc. How about something about the piano itself and how it evolved over time? I was so let down due to the almost complete lack of being able to listen to music from the composers I almost asked for my money back.

This is so well done. Totally absorbing for the 2 hours I spent there. For a full description of what you'll find - best to go to the web site or similar. But what you won't find on a web site is an awareness of the high quality and variety of what can be done with sound and music. I'm looking forward to going again soon to repeat what I really enjoyed and properly enjoy what I might have passed over too quickly.

The only slight downside are the hordes of kids. Very necessary I know - but a bit of a pain. But no matter - just wait until they've moved on to another room.

The place that you could see just in Wien-the city of classical music- to hear and taste the elements of great musicians like Mozart, Bethooven,Hyden... You can also find yourself in a big concert. İf you have enough time and iger for this kind of music, you must visit that house...
