“Skip the restaurants and eat here!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

We were not crazy about traditional Viennese cuisine - it can be quite heavy. The Naschmarkt offers many, many dining options, shopping, people watching, and cheap groceries. If you have any kind of kitchen...you can get great to go food and/or ingredients for a simple meal.

We wish we'd gone here first!

It's easy to access from the tram.

“Touristy, but still fun.”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Lots of outdoor stalls, mostly selling the same stuff - lots of spices, pickled vegies, etc. But also lots of places to grab a bite to eat at the stalls, or at one of the many little restaurants. If you are cooking, we saw nice fish here. In November the restaurants heat their outdoor spaces and provide blankets!

“Touristy but a great visit!”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

Naschmarkt is a great place to visit on a Saturday as you get both the food markets, street restaurants and a car-boot style bric-a-brac sale. It is very lively and can take a while to look round due to the number of people there. The variety of vegetables, fruit, spices and meat and fish is extensive - you can try just about any type of food. There are also street vendors and many types of restaurants to choose from. It is great on a sunny day as there is a lot of outdoor seating and it's perfect for people watching. Many tourists visit Naschmarkt so it does not necessarily attract the locals - there are other markets in Vienna for this, but it is a bustling place to be anytime in the week. Closed Sundays.

We've been in Nashmarkt for a brunch and we loved it. The food was very nice and also the atmosfere. When you walk down the market you feel lovely fragrances in the air. A must see place in Vienna!

“Saturday Flea Market at Naschmarkt”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

The Saturday Flea Market (Flohmarkt) at Naschmart is wonderful, once you get past the crowds that nudge and bump you so much you'll feel like a passenger on a Tokyo commuter train. Just brave the crowds, and it's all worth it, you may have to stop for a bratwurst half-way through, but the quality of things for sale shouldn't be missed. They have everything, paintings, photos, crystal, glass, clocks, knives, sterling, stainless and ceramics. Take your time and make a great morning of it.
