Owner description: For centuries the Vienna Hofburg was the centre of the Habsburg empire. Today the palace houses three museums which afford historically authentic insights into the traditions and everyday life of the imperial court: The Imperial Apartments with their original furnishings and decoration, the Sisi Museum with its sensitive staging of the empress' life, and the Imperial Silver Collection which contains a comprehensive range of tableware and other utensils used at the imperial court.

“Many Palaces in one.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

The main Hapsburg Palace in downtown Vienna. This Palace offers several parks and gardens as well as a number of different museums. There is the Ephesus museum which contains an extensive collection of Greek artifacts from that ancient city. There is also an muscial instruments museum and a museum of armour. These are housed in magnificent Palace rooms. The Albertina Museum is perhaps the most beautiful. The oldest residence of the Palace it contains period rooms and works by Durier, Raphael and Michelangelo as well as a 20th century gallery of Impressionists to Picasso. Also contained in the Hofberg is Hapsburg Library, Rooms belonging to the former Empress containing the massive collection of Imperial Porcelain and gold and silver items. Also the church inwhich most of the royal family are buried.

“Great venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

I attended a conference (Pioneers Festival) at the Imperial Palace. It was amazing, and I can't get over how grand the rooms are. Next time, I will have to take the official tour to visit the rest of the palace.

“Disappointed tour”

During our tour they were setting up tents for a trade fair being held on the weekend so we were unable to truly appreciate the beauty of the property and the grounds.

“Glad I didn't have to polish the silverware!”

Lovely exhibition of life during the Habsburg and the Austro-Hungarian reign. The silverware, crockery, etc and the Sissi history all very fascinating.
