Owner description: Austria's most prominent national symbol, this magnificent cathedral is known for its intricately tiled roof and its nearly 500-foot-tall South Tower, which provides amazing views of the entire city.
Reviewed December 8, 2014

The cathedral is right in the centre of Vienna and has a most unusual and colourful zigzag design on its roof. This gives a rather modern feel to a rather gothic building, but works well. It's certainly one of the most amazing cathedrals in the world, inside as well as out.

Do try and make sure to go visiting when there's no mass being held. This ancient builiding is impressive both outside and inside. The first time I saw it I wouldn't dare to enter it, it looked so spooky. It still does, but now I can't help going in. The shop lacks a little, though.

Beautiful church in a great location. We were not allowed to go into the main portion of the church, but we're able to see most of the church from the main entry way.

The Viennese clearly worship more than the Brits - we visited three times, and each time there was a mass on (I should have checked the times, but we just went when we were in the area). As a result we couldn't really see much of the cathedral.

Beautiful church. Have yet to go to catacombs, but no time. One doesn't have the ability to walk through church because of gates. Group of young people singing when we walked in enhanced our visit. Roof of this church is breathtaking...colorful tiles.
