Owner description: Austria's most prominent national symbol, this magnificent cathedral is known for its intricately tiled roof and its nearly 500-foot-tall South Tower, which provides amazing views of the entire city.

While this is a nice cathedral in the tourist epicentre, it is too crowded to be appreciated fully. A pity really, since it looks so nice from outside.

This is a great location but try to go during weekdays since is full of tourist. The location is great, also visit the catacombes bellow... For those lovers of esoteric stuff you can find interesting stuff.

This is the central spot for most of what you want to walk to in old Vienna. The cathedral itself is spectacular. Our concierge gave us the times for Sunday service and we enjoyed a wonderful organ concert during the service. After the cathedral you may walk in any direction to further enjoy this wonderful city.

A Must see to all visitors of Vienna, make sure to bring along a good camera with a zoom lens as the best parts of the Cathedral are closed to visitors and only a 18-270 mm zoom or similar will do the job…

Recommend to all a real beauty...

It's an astonishingly large Gothic Cathedral built in the 12th century with a gorgeous mosaic roof (my favourite part). The distant high altar is very visually appealing, as are the numerous fixtures and chapels. I entered when a mass was in service so I was able to enjoy seeing the choir play some Mozart with the organ which was a great pleasure. Very grandiose; a must see.
