Impressive cathedral with beautiful stained glass, rich history and a grandiose pulpit. Well worth spending some time and climbing to the top for views of Vienna.

don't miss the chance of going to Stephansdom whenever you're in Vienna. it's very soul-enriching. the structures, the images, the sacredness it brings and the history - all amazing. i will never ever get tired of going back.

The cathedral itself is absolutely awe-inspiring looking at it from the ground on the outside BUT do not miss a chance to climb the stairs up the south tower. The panoramic views of the entire city will take your breath away (as will climbing up the tiny and twisty stairwell :) Just take your time, be prepared to stop a lot to let others pass coming up or down.

And when you're done, head back down and spend sometime inside the church. And if you're up to it, drop a Euro into the donation box, and feel free to find a candle and light it.

Stephansdom is enchanting and memorable. You will absolutely miss out if you don't pay it a visit :)

the maximum time husband likes to spend in a church or museum is limited to 30 min max. So I took the chance to visit Stephan's cathedral when he was meeting colleagues. I bought a combined ticket which gave me access to the treasure, the catacombes, the two towers and a audio guide. I spent two peaceful hours in this beautiful church full of history. Outside it was 38 degrees and the catacombes had the best temperature and of course the chill factor of the skulls and the caskets. The best bit was that I didn't have to climb the stairs to the North Tower - there is an elevator!!

One of the greatest cathedral i have seen in Europe. You must visit inside and also if you have time climb the top for viewing beautiful view of vienna. it costs 5 euro's to climb the top of the church but its worth to see.
