“Lovely Cathedral”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Lovely cathedral both inside and out and well worth a visit. The views from the roof are great and with a lift not too hard to access. When you're scared of heights it is a little off putting but worth steeling your nerve.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

It's worth having a look at this cathedral, which you can do for free from the main entrance and north aisle outside of services. If you want to have a look at the choir or the tomb of Friedrich III you can get a ticket and excellent audioguide. The combined ticket also includes a trip up both towers and a tour of the catacombs beneath. I recommend going on the catacomb tour which is very spooky though quite short, but not for the squeamish as you will see a lot of bones! Unfortunately we didn't have time to go up the "Steffl" tower, but did go up to see the north tower with its huge "Pummerin" bell. You can get some great views from up there, but if you are afraid of heights I wouldn't recommend it as the lift is very claustrophobic and you step out into a cage surrounding the walls, which can be rather unnerving! You get an excellent view of the tiled roof from up there though. All well worth doing, although the ticket price is fairly high.

“Very impressive”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Very impressive, both inside and out. We went when it was snowing - very picturesque. Seemed a little pricey to go too far in or up the spire so we avoided that.

Stephen´s Cathedral has it´s cultural significance, built in Romanesque and Gothic style, wonderfully decorated during events. At the time of my visit, the indoor of cathedral had wonderful lightening decoration and the synchronization of colors created an amazing atmosphere.
