“Good meal ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

Visited here on TA recommendations. Lived up to expectations! Interior is clean and with a definite 1930's art deco feel. Staff friend and attentive and immaculately turned out. Smoking area separated from the non-smoking area with a glass partition that can be closed, and if you use the entrance on the right you don't have to pass through it.

Menu had plenty of options but only in German - though I have no doubt the waiter would have helped if required. I was in early evening and reserved notices were going down on tables already. Booking is suggested to avoid disappointment. Credit cards accepted.

Food good - typical Austrian fare but to a better standard than I had elsewhere. Recommended.

“New Years Eve Dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

Very nice set menu dinner for New Year's Eve. Great service at beginning of meal, but with arriving crowd we were a bit forgotten towards the end of the meal. Still very good, and would return.

“Exceeded expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

We were put off at first by the name; we're from the UK and didn't want British food in Vienna, but we quickly worked out that the menu was a combination of local and international flavours.

We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy with a few reserved tables - always a good sign. Service was perfect - friendly and fast but in rushed. We did 2 courses each and had to have dessert as the food was so good. Well cooked seafood, perfectly seasoned and cooked steak. Wine also deserves a mention. Value for money when the bill arrived. Highly recommended.

“a nice small lunch cafe”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

We didn't order any food from here just coffees and later beers. On a lunch time the place seemed to be very busy. At the cafe there were waiter who welcomed us in English and took our order like a pro. After that no one spoke English (that's OK, I can cope with German also) but the style of waitresses changed dramatically. When we ordered they took it but didn't respond at all. Time passed and time passed till someone took our order. No one wanted to serve on our table anymore. Don't know what's that all about. Hope I didn't offend them somehow.
Inside the atmosphere is nice. It's an typical middle European lunch cafe with a reasonable price.

“Delicious Food at Reasonable Prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

The special of the day was fried fish served with a tartar sauce, which was delicious. The fish was fried but not greasy and it was flaky and fresh. The meal came as a combo that included either soup or salad, the fish meal, and dessert. The dessert was something I had never had or heard of before ... a gnocchi type pasta with poppy seed sauce. It was so delicious and very filling.
The restaurant is small and it was crowded when we were there, but the service was good and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Vienna.
