This delightful spot, designed to make you feel that you're on the deck of a cruise ship, is sure to please you for a great lunch or late night apple strudel. Their large burgers are delicious but you may need to ask that they be cooked a little longer which they are more than willing to do for you. We found however the downstairs restaurant had a very limited menu. 40 Euros will cover a lunch for two including tax, tip and 2 half liters of beer.

It was only during our visit and talking to local colleagues afterwards that we realised this is one of the places to be 'seen' in Vienna. We only selected this restaurant on the basis that it was close to our hotel, looked like a nice riverside location and had attractive menu options.
To the credit of the staff we arrived without making a booking and, whilst they were clearly going to very busy, they managed to fit us in, without fuss, on what was a perfectly acceptable table (after a short wait in the adjoining bar).
Location is outstanding and clearly the tables which directly overlook the river are highly sought after. The decor is smart & crisp with a very contemporary design. Menu is interesting and the food quality is high (would certainly recommend any of the fish dishes which were outstanding).
Prices were acceptable given the quality of the dishes.
Service was a little patchy - periods where you were looking/ waiting for help followed by 2 waiters in quick succession asking the same question (and with our party a couple of mistakes with drinks orders).
The service we received felt a little functional (superficial welcomes, checking that things were ok but little else). You do get the slight feeling that they know they are successful and that you are lucky to be there. This manifests itself when you ask for something slightly 'off menu' (ie a request to extend a 'starter' salad to a main course is met with a 'no sorry' ,albeit very politely, and dont ask for a large beer as this really isnt 'the thing' here - small beers only !).

My biggest issue on the evening we attended was how hot the restaurant became. It was a warm evening and they did open all available windows but it remained almost intolerably hot. One of the contributing factors was the sheer volume of people who were dining. Whilst the owners will be happy with a full restaurant it has to be said that they certainly maximise the number of covers - diners are pretty packed in.

So in summary i liked this restaurant but I didnt love it. For me it was the sort of place that has to be visited but, for me, probably only once

Coming here from time to time with clients I really appreciate the excellent staff' and the high quality of the food.

Fun location, but view from the restaurant is imho somehwhat less charming.
I wouldn't go there for the view, but rather for the excellent quality of food and service.

Overall a great place with excellent staff and great food.

We dined here this evening. Cress soup, just delicious. Brescola (which I can't spell), a pyramid of thinly sliced beef, roasted peaches, and arugula. Pork medallions with white asparagus, perfectly cooked, wonderful sauce. Braised veal (with juices). For desert, just barely, rhubarb gratin. Wine: a 35 Euro Spanish Rioja. What is not to like?! Great service, we had a window table overlooking the Danube canal. Everything was excellent: well worth a visit. (And convenient -- right at Schwedenplatz, with the trolleys 1 & 2 and the U 1 & 4.)

Check your bill! - other diners have commented about this and yes, there were two items added to our bill - for around €50 more! There was no problem in taking the items off - but watch out. It seems that the place is famous for this. Why hasn't the owner not done anything about this?
The food is overpriced and mediocre. However for drinks the setting is very pleasant - especially in the evening.
