“Central and Clean but services questionable”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

We had three nights here on a city break. The hotel is pretty central and in walking distance of the main attractions. For those a little less mobile the there is a tram and underground stop nearby also. The hotel is modern and the rooms are clean. However, some people may have an issue with the shower cubicle being in the room itself - so not much privacy if that's important or you are travelling with a friend and don't wish to expose yourself to everyone. The hotel markets itself as a 4/5 star depending on which review or reservation site you read. I would have to say it is probably a 3/4 star. The service was reasonable. We asked for extra pillows to be delivered on the second day and these never arrived - despite the receptionist asking twice for our room number. The free wifi might as well be non-existent. It was the slowest internet I have ever encountered - they must be using dial up from 1931 judging by the speed. The breakfast was OK but selection limited to very Austrian tastes which is fine but nothing was offered in the way of hot food - not even eggs which are usually a staple of Germanic breakfast tables. On the whole it was OK but not worthy of the star rating suggested in the adverts and I wouldn't choose it if I were travelling on business but for a weekend break it was passable.

The hotel is ranked as a 4 or 5 star hotel (I really couldn't confirm that information!), but you should treat as an average 4 star hotel. So what was good: location - really in the center, design of the room - I found myself there really comfortable, cleanness, etc., very good breakfast, the staff was trying to be nice (look at the points I didn't like)
But some of the things made me really angry:
1. Internet - it just doesn't work. You cannot open google maps. It's even more annoying to be told that you have internet that doesn't work than don't having any.
2. Toilet - the water didn't stop after flushing
3. The coffee machine was broken and I couldn't get a coffee for breakfast
4. Hotel staff wasn't trained properly. They didn't how to print an invoice with my company name on it, they didn't know how to put miles on my loyalty card, etc.

I found the shower in the middle of the room quite fancy, but it is definitely not for all

Came into this hotel with high expectations, but we were quickly disappointed.
Front desk staff was unfriendly and unhelpful (correction: downright rude). Upon arriving late after a 7 hour drive, we were told that it would be impossible to get dinner....anywhere. In the middle of Vienna? Really? Every single food-related business is closed late at night? Thanks.
The front desk let us down pretty much every day too. At 6pm, I let them know that our room hadn't been attended to yet and they responded with "our staff will get to it". Needless to say, it didn't happen.
They also were rude when we tried to leave our bags for a late check out. A huge burden, apparently.

To be fair, there was one bellman who was extremely friendly and helpful. So kudos to him.

Breakfast was a disaster. PACKED venues with no seating and little variety aside from cheese and cold cuts...and bread.
None of the servers actually seemed to know how to help the situation, so it just became worse.

As for the room - it was nice and the bed was comfy. The glass shower in the room is good for a laugh, but be warned if you're sharing a room for a business trip.

Get new front desk staff and expand breakfast service!

Very nice hotel, sexy rooms with glass shower in the middle of the room. It is an excellent choice for couples and for shooping also, as it is situated near Mariahilfestrasse. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, very good service.

Room Tip: Excellent hotel!

Hotel not worth 5 stars. No breakfast food innovators when finished. We waited half an hour for an omelette. Not every day, towels were changed for every guest.Room Internet speed is very low less than 1 MB. I asked the receptionist how to get to a familiar Outlet, she claim that she can not explain that because it is outside vienna.

Great expectations- great disappointments
We booked this hotel for a 5 night stay in Vienna, and wanted to treat ourselves with something extra. Due to the positive reviews on tripadvisor and other pages, we decided for Fleming’s Deluxe Hotel. In hindsight, we regret the choice.

The hotel is very modern and nicely designed with large rooms and a comfortable bed. But the room feels very naked because it completely lacks any decoration. And the free WiFi is incredibly slow. The minibar was also somewhat of a disappointment with the cheapest beer in Austria, some soda and some juice.
The location is very good though, only a short walk to the inner city. The area where the hotel is situated, Josefstadt, is lively with a lot of shops and restaurants (like the wonderful Fromme Helene and Café Hummel). Our reason for regret is mostly because of very poor service performance from the hotel staff, from the first moment.

When we arrived quite late in the evening, we were met with a grumpy receptionist who told us, when we asked about the smoking rules, said that we could smoke out of the window. Afterwards we discovered that doing so would give us a 150£ fine… At breakfast the day after we were met with an ill-tempered staff who shouted “down the stairs” to us, and did not bother to approach our table and get our orders for coffee and eggs-bacon. The exactly same thing happened the day after, and we actually had to “highjack” one of the staff to be able to order. We also noticed that for a whole hour there was no bread, no juice and no vegetables available at the buffet.

Early in our stay we had to contact the reception because there were 6 light bulbs missing and a defect minibar, and they promised to do something about it. Which they did not. And when we enquired about it some time after, they told us in a not too friendly way that it couldn’t be fixed for a while. Luckily we were blessed during the next days with 2 young men who actually understood the idea of service in comparison to the rest of the hotel. This also includes the cleaning staff, who did not refill soap and other accessories at all, and one day forgot to give us new towels.

In short- a nice hotel with an excellent location that seems to have a major attitude problem towards the guest, at all levels of staff.
I do not recommend this hotel.

First the good things: The location is great, the modern design of the rooms is attractive and the breakfast is very good. Now the cons: incredibly slow wifi that disconnects you all the time. For each device you need to run to the reception desk all 24 hours to get a paper ticket with a new wifi code. If you are travelling for business and need to work online, this will drive you crazy. But for a romantic weekend the hotel would be ok.
