A traditional Austrian beisl in a side street off Graben street/square. Typical Austrian food (goulasch, schnitzel).

We were here in May 2013 for a supper and we were seated outdoors. It's a walkers-only street and not too large so a nice surrounding for a supper for two :).

The food was very good and the prices very reasonable - 31 Euros for two people including drinks. We had very good, warm, hearty soups - Frittatensuppe and Leberknödelsuppe as entrées. Main courses were bratwürst and schnitzel good portions and tasty meat. Beer and house wine were excellent companions to our meal.

The service was fast and the service friendly - the lady spoke a bit of english too.

Would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone interested in a good, traditional Austrian meal with a no-nonsense approach and prices.

It is obviously a popular place. I went early and there were a few tables reserved for later in the evening. The food is very reasonably priced with good and efficient service. Staff are extremely pleasant and engage in conversation. The meal did not take long too come after being ordered and was of a very good quality. It is hidden away in one of the side streets (Dorotheergasse 4) off Graben. Highly recommended.

We were looking for a nice place for a reasonable meal for our day out in Vienna. We decided on this place. The lady showed us a table that had a basket of bread from the previous guests. We asked if the bread was fresh, the waitress said it was a new serving. We ordered our meals and ate the bread as we have been doing in many other European restaurants the bread we assumed was complimentary. When we received the bill we found a €6 charge for a few pieces of bread that was in the basket. When I asked what this was the waitress rudely remarked 'This Is Austria'. I just paid the entire bill and left. The food was not remarkable but the way we were treated when at no stage were we told the bread was extra disappointed me.

Excellent traditionsl food. Not fancy but quick and not too expensive. Waitress spoke only a little English but enough. Recommended if you like wurst, beef, potatoes, and kraut.

This is a traditional Austrian beisl just off Graben that offers simple dishes (strudel, goulasch & schnitzel of course) in a pub like atmosphere. Pub prices for food & drink in a very central position is hard to find in Vienna, so top marks for that. But the Ritz it's not. Speedy, friendly service. Goulasch was generous and delicious.
