We booked this only 48 hours before the day of the trip and unfortunately due to the time of the year there was not a large enough group to do it as an organised tour. But no worries Adam who runs the tour was fantastic and provided us with maps, bikes puncture kit, and first aid kit and his knowledge of the best places to stop on route for wine tasting and great places to eat. He personally took us to the train station and sorted out our tickets and gave us his contact number so he could meet us at the end of the day. He could not of done more to ensure we had a brilliant day. The sun was shinning and at this time of year the trees looked magnificent in all their autumn colours. The bike ride was easy going and our 12 year old loved it. We took the train to Melk admiring the stunning scenery on route and from there cycled through the wachau valley amongst vineyards and lovely villages. We stopped at Durnstein to take the worthwhile hike up the hill to see the ruins where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned. This was one of the best days out we had in Vienna and we would strongly recommend everyone to do this. Thanks Adam for a brilliant time and all your help.

My husband and I did the Grape Grazing tour last month and, if we had to pick one highlight out of an amazing 10 days in Austria, this would be it. Despite having read the great reviews on TripAdvisor, it exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Gretel, was fantastic - very knowledgable about the area, the wines, the history, etc and a lot of fun. Our group was a mix of different nationalities and ages which was great. The pace was perfect. We had just the right amount of time to explore two small towns, including Durnstein, and to just soak in the area. The bike ride was over easy terrain and provided beautiful views. Gretel effortlessly kept us on track (and well fed at the bbq lunch) and took the time to sit with each group on the way back to see if they needed advice about exploring Vienna and the area. She gave us great ideas and made sure everyone knew where they were going when we arrived back in Vienna. We had 3.5 days in Vienna and think it was well worth devoting one day to this tour. Highly recommend it!

We booked to go on the cycle tour of the vineyards in October and so were not expecting great weather. Nonetheless, when the day dawned wet and cold we nearly cancelled.
I'm very glad we didn't as we had an excellent day.
A cycle tour, led by an Aussie, of vineyards just outside Vienna, involving the consumption of truly Australatian volumes of wine on a wet grey day should have been a recipe for disaster.
Somehow it wasn't. The wines were good (& interesting). Adam was an excellent guide and cooked a fine BBQ lunch, the cycling was easy & the bike brakes almost worked some of the time and our multi-national group was such fun that when we got back to Vienna at 7pm, we all promptly went out together for the night. A thoroughly good day.

The Grape Grazing tour was my absolute favorite day on what was an amazing trip. Adam was a great guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic - and he barbecued us a great lunch! The wine we tasted was lovely - and also very affordable, if you want to buy a bottle or two.

Riding through the villages, along the Danube, and amongst the grapevines was truly memorable.

If you are going to be in Vienna, I highly recommend this as a day excursion. You will not be disappointed.

I did the Grape Grazing Tour yesterday and it was so much fun! Our tour leader Mala was really easy going and likeable. The train ride, cycling and walking is all through beautiful locations. The group was diverse enough with Australians, Americans, Brits and even some Austrians! A BBQ lunch was offered as an extra optional activity, the view from where we ate was worth it alone.

I also did the walk an fork tour with Walter. Here we did a walking tour in the evening which was followed by a meal in a traditional Austrian restaurant. Walter was really funny, his dark and dirty account of Vienna's history was perfectly entertaining for the young group of tourists that he was leading.
