I loved it. You can easily walk all the centre and discover all the palaces and beautiful fountains it has.

Very few european cities have such intact historical ensembles like Vienna.

A walk through downtown Vienna can be like time travel.

During an evening stroll on a rainy night through the medieval neigborhoods between Griechengasse and Wollzeile, one can still smell the old times, hear the horse drawn carriages... A few streets further, in a more 17th century part of Vienna, one expects Mozart to walk around the corner in his white wig and a long, dark coat. Accross Stephansplatz and the St. Stephen's Cathedra, one can follow the exclusive shopping street Graben, one ends up at magnificent Hofpurg, a palace of truely royal scope.

You have reached the administrative heart of Vienna. Here Chancellor and President reside, since Austria has done away with its Emperor.

Still a little bit further on, one passes the fairytail like City Hall, the Burgtheater.

After all of this, it for sure is time for a "Weisser Spritzer" , a white wine sprizz, which you can get in any Viennese Kaffehaus.

Enjoy the walk! All of this can be done on foot. Vienna is very pedestrian friendly!

Vienna city center is one of the most beautiful place I have ever seen. The baroque palaces, the great monuments, the huge gardens and the crowded streets give to this place unique characteristics. Simply wonderful.

Possibly the cleanest city we've ever visited. And the combination of beautiful buildings, great shops and wide open walkways make it great for pedestrians - especially those with strollers and kids!
