The historic center of Vienna should not be missed and it ought to be enjoyed on foot and slowly enough to take the true pleasure in the process. It is good to somewhat get acquainted with the history of the Viennese fin de siecle to fully enjoy it. The secession style and Vienna cafe scene are fascinating.

It's nice to walk around for some time, but after a point all the buildings begin to blend and look the same because they're similar to each other to begin with. It's free, though, so you have nothing to lose by leaving when you begin to get bored.

Simply walking around the grand building of Vienna was a treat. The buildings are very large and the architecture spectacular. I wasn't sure what was actually housed on all those buildings, or what there is to see in all of them! Its an easy walk to see them, mostly located on the "Ring Rd". If you get too far from your hotel, there are a number of subway or tram stops to get you home.

Palace follows Palace.....it blows you away!! Mozart's house is a little disappointing- hidden down a back street - but otherwise WOW!! We, on the first day did the 'hop-on-hop-off bus' - and then on the second day we walked. Do walk - you really get the feel of this wonderful city. It was great to see the buildings - and such things as The Johann Strauss Statue. Marvellous. Restaurants are a little disappointing though and VERY overpriced. Even Starbucks cost a fortune. Otherwise - enjoy
