“Well worth a Visit!”

Especially in Spring and Summer! Nice stroll.

Very well kept and modern Zoo.

MUSTs are the Panda´s ( especially if there´s a small one there ... now they are at # 3! ) and the feeding of the Sea Lions - once before Noob, once in the afternoon!

Visit the Tyrolean Farm and the Woodwalk, too.

“very nice zoo”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

If you (or your children) like Zoos, this is definitely something to see. Very traditional (it has been a zoo for hundreds of years as far as I know) and with a lot to see. Enjoy.

“Great place for kids”
Reviewed March 9, 2014

7 euro entry fee but you have free run of the place and unlimited time, there are cheetah, lion, elephants and giraffes that the kids love. Then there is the play area just for the kids. Value for money

“Surprised ... and are apes smater than humans?”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

I had spent the morning visiting Schoenbrunn Palace and Park and decided to visit here for the rest of the day as it's actually in the park itself. I had low expectations but came away pleasantly surprised. Entry is reasonably priced. I was impressed with the obvious level of care with which the animals are being looked after. Note that at the moment work is going on in the polar bear enclosure (lord knows where the bears are) and I couldn't work out when they'll be back as most of the signage is German. You cat get an English map but be warned - it's layout is slightly confusing - but there are helpful symbols around pointing you in the right direction. They also tell you when the animals will be next be fed - the feeding of the sealions was particularly entertaining - even for the older generation! Plenty of opportunities to take photos if that's your thing. Pandas were out and about but tip - visit the red pandas next door as they can be much more active. Their Panda colleagues just sit and eat ...

Many food outlets available on site but many were closed due to the season. I therefore can't vouch for the cost or quality. But I grabbed some coffee and cake in the central cafe, and it was perfectly acceptable at typical Viennese prices.

Bring good shoes as you can spend a lot of time walking here and there are some hills. You could spend 4-5hrs here or even a day if you so wish. Pick a day without rain.

Recommended. Kids will love it.

Only sour point - to the bunch of Austrian teen losers openly smoking drugs and playing loud music by the lions den - the orangutans exhibited better and more social behavior than you. Sometimes I despair for humanity - Planet of the Apes, anyone?

“The highlight of our trip to Vienna!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We knew it was going to be good but never expected a city zoo to be this good!! Of course, the Panda's, the baby one in particular, was a big draw. I could have spent hours watching that little fella messing around.
The monkey swinging around on the ropes tried (and almost did) steal the show, he was ace!! I swear he knows what he is doing to entertain people, as he would swing about at 100mph, then plonk himself down and watch the crowd, before going again! Could also watch him for ages!

The only disappointment was no polar bears as the enclosure is being redone.

I cant recemenmd this place highly enough!
