Owner description: Zoo Vienna, the oldest existing zoo in the world founded in 1752. Schonbrunn Zoo was voted Europe's best in 2008, 2010 and 2012. Schonbrunn Zoo is the perfect place for a journey into the fascinating world of the animal kingdom. Open year round, it combines the highlights of the natural world with an unparalleled history as the world's oldest and Europe's best zoo. It is part of Schonbrunn as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage listed site and home to more than 700 species of animals. Marvel at the Giant pandas, tigers, orangutans, koalas and elephants, immerse yourself in the magic of the Amazon and feel the heat of a tropical rainforest in the heart of Europe. It's a zoo. Like going to the zoo? Took daughter and hubby there. We enjoyed ourselves.
I have to say though, it did seem as if ALL the displays were open and available. Maybe we were just lucky, but I've been to zoos in the past when portions would be closed for some reason or other.
We did draw the line at seeing the raccoons however. We have enough of those guys in our neighbourhood back home.

I loved this zoo first off has all my favorite animals in one place. Panda, Koala bears, Lemur, Meerkat, penguins. The feeding time was the perfect time to see the Pandas there were 3 they went out side and it there were plenty of places to stand and view them and also a place to step up for better view and photographs. The Koalas too were best viewed at meal time because they were awake and active. Zoo was laid out in an easy to find pattern things were clearly marked all in all a great day out and well worth the admission. I would recommend it to anyone who loves seeing animals that you can not find at every zoo,

I have always liked this zoo even before it was renovated. My son and his family enjoy going there desite the rather high entrance fees.

We work in the Zoo world and have seen too many to count. This zoo was fantastics and very enjoyable considering the limits on expansion, historic building permits and the orginal framework from which the zoo grew out of. We expecially like the tree tops and old lodge at the hill top. The elephant space was really nice and the baby elephants were special to watch. And the pandas, we have pandas too but it was great to see a successfull breeding pair and their cubs.
i dont recommend the food though- we ate at the center restarant, the beer was decent but the food sucked and the service was weak. My husband ordered a sausage plate and I think it was just a frankfurter, which would have been fine if there was some caatsup mustard and krout to put on it. i dont know it was lame food. But the zoo itself and teh grounds were great.

When you are in Vienna, and you visited all the famous sights, it's worth to visit the Zoo. On the one hand I think it is nice, but on the other hand it is nothing special.
