“Real Vienna food in a non-touristic area”
Reviewed January 3, 2014

We went to this restaurant twice during our New Year's trip to Vienna (stayed in Simm's Hotel). The Wienerschnitzel and the Budapestschnitzel are both huge but if you would like to taste real Vienna food, don't skip them. Don't be fooled by the unattractive interior of the place (the LED lights don't fit well with the wood panels on the wall). For visitors staying in the Simm's Hotel, the restaurant can easily by reached by taking U3 (last stop) or by taking tram 71.

“Strongly recomment, if you are nearby”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

Stern was recommended by Jufa reception, and it's worth to visit for sure, if you are nearby. Stern kitchen has modern attitude to the classical dishes - traditional food is served here in a upper level, and, I must admit, very tasty! We were twice there, had different meals, so my favorite was: Schnitzel from Bio-meat (organic), Kuerbis (pumpkin) risotto, Rindsuppe (beef bouillon with noodles) and of course local made Punsch. I think all this selection was from Tageskarte, not the main menu, which in English is much shorter than in German. So if you manage to read in German, you better ask for German menu.
I disliked beef tartar (main menu), since it's not a steak-house, you should not expect good one.
Being nearby, I definitely come back again. For busy lunch time or dinner better make reservation.
