Have visited the restaurant tonight after having called in for a reservation. With the comment that they're fully booked, we're only offered a table in a smoking section, even though we kindly asked for a non-smoking one when possible. When arrived, the restaurant was half empty, but nonetheless we were offered a table close to the entrance close to the reception, in the smoking area, where we amusantly could monitor the action. After us, 3 more couples arrived without reservation, but waiters using the excuse that they were fully booked, some could fix something last minute. 2 of them even ended up in the non-smoking area. When we left at about 1h later, the restaurant was still 1/3 empty. Food was average to poor. We ate in a brasserie in the Hofburg in the day before traditional Vienna dishes and it definitely can stand the test with this restaurant. Overall, it was definitely not worthwhile to get off the beaten path for this restaurant.
