“Very pleasing meal in a nice atmosphere”
Reviewed July 27, 2012

After reading a good write-up of this restaurant, we were keen to try it. It was very busy so it was quite difficult to get a suitable table, but we were accommodated. The service was efficient and we had our drinks and then food in no time. The Schnitzels from pork were excellent and came along with a nice salad. There is a good selection of beers, as well. Not expensively priced at all.

“Excellent food, huge portions, great local non-tourist place with garden”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

The manager of Holiday Inn Vienna city recommended this place to us as we didn't want to eat in tourist places and this restaurant was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Really lovely little place, very traditional with a pretty garden in the back where on sunny days it fills up very quickly. We ate here twice and really enjoyed it. It's typical Viennese fare and well cooked; the pork medallions were lovely as was the chicken with Viennese dumplings. Most of the other people eating there on our two visits seemed to be locals who knew the place and the staff well. It's definitely not a touristy place which is great. The service was efficient and very friendly and the food came quickly and it was easily affordable, especially for the size of the portions. Make sure to make reservations for evening meals, especially on Fridays and Saturdays or you won't get in. It gets completely booked up. They had some menus translated in to english.

“Very good local FAmily food”
Reviewed April 14, 2012 via mobile

This restaurant is a hidden delight. It serves beautifully cooked typical Viennese style food. The garlic soup was as good a flavour as you would find in any top restaurant. The boiled beef was delicious. The vegetables cooked to perfection. It's in a back street and only locals seem to know it, but that is good. The wine list is limited to Austrian wine, but it is very good value. The service is friendly not pretentious. It's like you are family. Well worth a special trip. It might be worth raining them to book.
