Description: Café seit Mozarts Zeiten The first coffeehouse was opened at this location in 1794, three years after the death of W.A. Mozart. The Café Katzmayr located here was a popular meeting point for writers, artists, and actors during the Biedermeier period. In 1882 the old baroque house was torn down, and a Café was opened again in the present building which received the name Café Mozart in 1929. Here is where Graham Green worked on the screenplay of 'The third man' in 1947. A scene of this great classic film takes place in the street serving area of the Café Mozart. Enjoy the atmosphere of a traditional Viennese café without being bothered by smoke! For the Café Mozart is entirely a non-smoking café. If you wish to smoke you can do so on the terrace of our café or in the bar area of Crossfield’s Australian Pub next door.

“Wonderful local place with rich heritage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

Its a timeless cafe, full of locals and tourists - decor and the feel of the cafe is very imperial and almost feels like a vintage place.
i took a table right next to the big windows overlooking the pathways and watched the world go buy.
I ordered an apple struddle and a coffee for Eur - 9.4. which seems all right, and they both were amazing in taste and quality. It was a perfect place to slow down, relax and i saved myself from all the snow and the cold that was outside.
Service - noting special - it was as it should be.
Tip - please reserve in advance if you are going for a meal.

“A fun experience”

Great weinerschnitzel in a venue that takes you back in time to another age..... The plate/order of sausages was large and enough for two. The desserts are beautifully presented in an art deco display case that you can admire while you wait in line. Expect a 20-30 minute wait...but well worth it.

“Perfect, then not”

Great desserts but I just don't like waiting so long to get a check even after requesting one several times.

“Worth the wait”

We decided to wait in the line for this cafe and found it was well worth the wait. The service was great and the lunch and deserts were just as delicious.

“Good food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013 via mobile

I had dinner at Cafe Mozart with my husband.. There were many empty tables and we were able to chose the one we wanted. The waiter was nice and spoke good English. Our food was tasty and the portions were large but I did find it a bit expensive. But Vienna, especially Innere Stadt, is very expensive.
