“Slow, rude and expensive”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

I'm disappointed that I need to contribute a negative review when I see a restaurant with such a great rating. Hopefully our experience was an isolated one. Here is the summary of my grievances: It took over 10 minutes for a waiter to greet us and take our order. He brought us bread we did not request and then charged us 3 euros. He informed me in a curt tone that service was not included. This was an unfortunate blemish on an otherwise spectacular visit to Vienna.

“Can't find a better outdoor cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013 via mobile

Coffee in downtown Vienna surrounded by history combined with great taste and fair prices - it was our Go-To cafe while we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary :)

“Best Breakfast - but with a caveat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

This was a classialy busy place filled with locals and some tourists. good location on the ring. Only ate breakfast. So what was "best". Well they nailed the soft boiled egg on both visits. easy you say? Not really. Others we tried were overcooked. Fruit plate was pretty good as well. Again, in austria EVERY place pretty much has the same very limited breakfast menu unless you eat in a hotel with a buffet. so dont go to any cafe expecting a wide variety. Some do have omelets and scrambled eggs but not of the american style. Stick to the simple european way of breakfast.

Nice selection of pastries and good coffee as well. Nice large outdoor seating area on the ring but pretty noisy with traffic and trolleys.

“Feel the history ooze from the walls.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

History oozes from the walls and so does the several hundred years of prior cigarette smoke. Typical Viennese cafe. Excellent coffee and pastries. Full menu is subpar, however. Convenient location for Musicverein concerts.

“Great Cafe for a Light Meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

We ate here at a concierge's recommendation and we were very pleased. It had a good European atmosphere; we sensed that the locals brought their visitors to this restaurant for an authentic Viennese experience. The service was excellent, as was the food. The menu was varied enough to satisfy our need for a meal that included well-prepared and tasty vegetables and a lighter meat dish. We loved the apple strudel and the brauner coffee. The musician entertainers were an added treat.
