This place is much less imposing than I'd been led to expect in the reviews. This is not an haute cuisine venue, rather, honest plain Austrian food which tastes good, if not great. You are greeted upon entry by ab cloud of smoke ( Austrian restraints and bars, astonishingly, allow smoking indoors--go figure!). The menu is in German. If you arrive before 8pm you are likely to get attentive service but at around 8 the place filled up and there were still just two waiters. I was under the impression that Austrian service was included in the price but our waiter assured us that this is not the case in Austria. A tip request came up on the little ATM for the first time. I didn't know whether to tip or not--I had not been tipping for the two days I'd been here. This little incident left an unpleasant taste in the mouth. It looked to me that most people were there for the night so tip collection---if natives tip---would be limited.
