Meals are really great - every thing was delicious, spicy and indian.
Mango chutney is extremely tasty! I still remember it's taste. Panir cheese in tomato sauce - highly recommended.
Great choice of Lassies and they even have Rose Lassy (last time we had Rose Lassy was in Bodghaya in the Lassy corner) - that really impressed!

Great choice of vegetarian meals - that is really important in the-meat-city of Vienna.

Great service, hospitality of people made the best impression. Interior is nice and and un-obsessive and well-balanced. Pictures and sculptures from Rajasthan are still in our hearts!

This is our second time at Indien Village (didn't post the 1st time) and both times both the food and service have been faultless. We have lived in London and the food holds its own with the best on offer there. Would recommend it without hesitation. BTW Fluent English is spoken.

We have been coming regularly to this restaurant for more than 16 years and we have never been disappointed. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food is excellent. The mixed starter is a real taste sensation to get your tastebuds ready for the main course. We could recommend many dishes that we have enjoyed over the years, but a new addition to the menu, Murg Achari, is my new personal favourite. At last this restaurant is getting the attention that it deserves and is now often fully booked. Reserve a table - don't miss out!

Indien Village is a much hyped Indian restaurant in Vienna. It is disappointing. The location is a little off the main tourist drag but is still just about within the central area of town.

The internal decor is jaded. The surroundngs are tacky and in need of renewal. It is not uncomfortable and there is a reasonable amount of space in the dining area. Midweek it is not overly busy so presumably a booking is not always necessary.

The service is not great. One of the staff insisted on rudely re-counting a large group payment in front of us, at least have the courtesy to do it out of sight if you do not believe us. Unlike other decent Indian restaurants in Vienna, there was no attempt at making us feel like welcome guests.

The biggest disappointment though is the food. It is heavy and unflavoured. The jalfrezi received a very poor reception from an experienced curry fan in our group. The navratan was almost inedible and could probably have done with a knife to cut through the stodge, It was a heavy and unpleasant meal. Others in the group did not come away with major complaints though significant compliments were completely absent.

Vienna is not a good town for Indian cuisine, even the best are not amazing. Indien Village does not rank amongst Vienna's best. Lacking flavour, overly thick, not really warm enough, cold and unfriendly staff. A disappointment.

Dear Reviewer,
Many thanks for having reviewed our restaurant on Tripadvisor. We are very sorry that your visit to our restaurant did not meet your expectations. I am the owner of the restaurant and always there to ensure that our guests are relishing the food and are satisfied with the service as well. Surprisingly, there has been no such complaint from any of the guest from your group. Had there been any complaint, then I personally would have looked into the matter. Secondly, it is a very regular practice in all the restaurants to re-check the amount as far a big group is concerned. Therefore, I am perplexed by your statement. Nevertheless, we have noted your feedback and it would be a great pleasure to have you as our guest in our restaurant.

Me and my husband are regular guests of this restaurant and we both like it really much. It is very traditionally and cosy equipped place with the original indien decorations everywhere. The staff is very helpful and cordial and the food is very tasty. I like Mango Lassi and the cuvert befor the main course- it is really excellent. I guess there is no better and nicer indien restaurant in the whole Vienna.
